This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because even the BBC reports about the Middlesbrough and Teesside Philanthropic Foundation. --Zaxevi (talk) 05:34, 11 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Just because the BBC reported on an organization, a person, or a company does not make them notable. The organisation in question is at the forefront of a new movement in civic philanthropy driven by businesses.

No other charitable group in the UK has such a large and solid group of significant business backers coming from one urban area.

Due to the activist nature of it's projects and the unashamedly Teesside-centric goals of its trustees The Middlesbrough and Teesside Philanthropic Foundation has been described as a movement for social change rather than a charity.

As the organisation grows its national profile will emerge - already it's building on the remarkable success of www.ceosleepoutuk.com and spreading that movement to London and Newcastle. The planned London event is expected to host high profile participants from London's business and political elite.

Coutts Bank's philanthropy department have commented at a conference that they believe that the Middlesbrough and Teesside Philanthropic Foundation is unique in the UK because of its purely Teesside focus and remarkably strong business support.

I believe that the Foundation is unique and fascinating. By binding local business and local patriotism together the organisation has managed to do remarkable things:

1. create new jobs for unemployed local youngsters 2. create what has been described as the UK's biggest art competition www.love-whereyoulive.co.uk 3. launch the UKs first executive sleepout programme with a goal of generating £1m over twelve months - to fight homelessness 4. launched www.middlesbroughhomelessfc.co.uk with plans in place to do the same in Newcastle, Sunderland, Hartlepool and Darlington

Professional fundraisers have suggested that the £450,000 raised by the charity to date without any staff and from such a small urban area (400,000 people) is nothing short of incredible.

I believe that the unique story of Middlesbrough and Teesside Philanthropic Foundation should be allowed to evolve on Wikipedia.

Please let me know if you don't agree.

You sound like you're most likely affiliated with the organization. While the organization may have a noble cause, Wikipedia is not the yellow pages. You've got to prove that the organization is notable. What you've given above is like a Press Release for the organization, which doesn't show why the article is notable. Further, please familiarize yourself with our conflict of interest policy and our neutral point of view policy. Dusti*poke* 15:19, 11 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
