misquote[edit]

"On March 1, 2006, AP re-released a recording of Michael Brown and the President in a video conference in which the vulnerability of the levee system was raised with a great deal of concern over potential loss of life. The President denied any awareness of the possibility of a levee-related catastrophe in a live interview.[20]"

[20] leads to an article dated sep. 1st, bush in an interview with sawyer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.100.194.106 (talk) 02:15, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

original research[edit]

"The TIME article missed another possible fabrication in Brown's FindLaw biography. According to this biography, Brown graduated from college in 1978 and almost immediately afterward began serving as Chairman of the Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority from 1980 through the present. Yet the website of the OMPA (OMPA), which has only a couple dozen employees, does not list Brown as Chairman, an officer or an employee. According to the OMPA, Charles Lam serves as Chairman and none of the employees interviewed knew of any association between Michael Brown and the OMPA."

None of this is sourced. Further it states that it is a "possible" fabrication. How is "possible" verifiable? How does this "adhere to the policy on biographies of living persons."

Removed. If you can source verifiable information--do so. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.15.210.73 (talk) 09:49, 17 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Charles Lamb (use the final b) is the 2009 Chairman of the OMPA board. Michael Brown's photo is on the wall of the new OMPA office at milepost 140 in I-35 in Edmond, OK., as part of a photo display of past board members. Yes, he was a past board president. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.27.224.122 (talk) 12:24, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

concern re OMPA portion[edit]

"""""He also taught at OCU law school as an adjunct. From 1982-1988, he was the chairman of the board of the Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority. Several power plants were built during his tenure. One hydroelectric plant located at Kaw Reservoir was completed in 1989 and named the Michael D. Brown Hydroelectric Power Plant and Dam in his honor. Kay County commissioners have formed a committee to rename the plant.[citation needed]""""

OMPA does not build powerplants. They are a public entity and employees receive State of Oklahoma payroll checks. It is true that they negotiate for varying percentages of the generation from various plants. The OMPA cooperative was initiated by State of OK legislation, in 1982, I believe. There was growth of the agency, of course, as cities sought to have the advantages of cheaper (non-profit) electric power. As of 2009, there are 35 to 40 Oklahoma and Southern Kansas member cities ompa.com —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.27.224.122 (talk) 12:19, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bush comments irrelevant in this artice, move to Katrina article?[edit]

Section starting with "Bush appeared on the tape..." to "...assets we have at our disposal after the storm", he said should be moved to Katrina article. It has no relevance to Micheil Brown.--Mistakefinder (talk) 09:50, 23 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Trolling Doctor Michael E. Mann[edit]

There are some significant Tweets by this politician being issued today which may be relevant. Does anyone feel that the extant article would be improved by providing some of said tweets' contents? BiologistBabe (talk) 18:28, 8 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Are there independent news sources covering this with full articles? If it is just tweets, or just incidental mentions the incident is probably not significant enough for inclusion.Dialectric (talk) 19:56, 8 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A warning to people who have come here to add content to this page[edit]

I used to produce Brown's show on KOA in Denver. He once told he comes to his Wikipedia page to edit or remove misinformation- or what he perceives to be incorrect info. So if you plan to add content to this page, don't be surprised if it gets removed. You might hurt poor Brownie's feelings. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Itsnotme549 (talkcontribs) 02:44, 20 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Interesting, but not surprising that Brownie would edit his Wiki page. He is a real work of art. I listened to him from the start on KHOW, for a laugh and out of disbelief of his ignorant, arrogance. What I was looking for here was an explanation of why he left KHOW. Is he now just podcasting?
