Ska/Pop?[edit]

While Madness did play both ska and pop, at this time in their career, ska was rather rare. This song particularly is very clearly a pop song and not influenced really at all by ska. The genre probably oughta be changed to just pop. Glassbreaker5791 04:09, 12 July 2007 (UTC) Agreed. Sam Orchard 04:13, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I wouldn't say that the move from SKA necessarily makes Madness just a POP band! The were only tenuously Ska in the first place (well at least when you listen to the first and Subsequent albums they weren't) and I think they're all the better for it and so are we all!

I love ska, all three(?) generations of it. . . yeh there are really

Still Madness were just Madness and after seeing Tea at The Park in Scotland this year on the Telly I thank god they still all feel it at some level or another.

POP>!>!???! nah that's all sappy love song rubbish innit?

And unless I'm mistaken this discussion is about the song Michael Caine? Which is about the Troubles over in Ireland and about the life of an informer? Hardly can be classed as POP now can it?

Just BLOODY GOOD MUSIC !
