The article is in need of cleaning up[edit]

THe entire article is more of a review not and article for and excilepedia. I don't know who made the article, but it needs be reformated as an article not a personal review.

Marked for cleanup. (James A. Calwell III 18:57, 25 September 2005 (UTC))[reply]

Random annonymous viewer agrees. Isn' better to stack all Metal Slug stuff in the same artical either? --Anon

Another random anonymous viewer agrees. This is lame. --Anon 2

I did add some facts into the original article, including the production process and such. I've also edited and removed some things that seemed to reflect personal opinions of the original writer's viewpoint along the way. I think it's better to be left like this since it tells the readers about how the game came into this world and received so much criticism, making it the most controversial game of the series. - 11/1/2005

Screenshot gallery[edit]

These images have to be integrated into the article for they've only served a decorative purpose (no descriptions, no reference to the images in the article)

Orphan the rest --larsinio (poke)(prod) 13:53, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
done. --elias.hc 14:15, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Title Screen[edit]

I've taken a screenshot of the title screen, without any borders - For some reason, though, although it looks perfect when accessed through a link or viewed in an application, when embedded into an article, it doesn't show up. Any ideas? OptiPNG apparently cannot be blamed (tried out an old, unoptimized version). --elias.hc 14:54, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Its a firefox issue. I have this problem a lot of times with images just not appearing. I have no idea what it is caused from. --larsinio (poke)(prod) 14:57, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Safari seems to be affected, too, then - I've now re-saved the optimized PNG using Preview and emptied the cache of Safari - it seems to be working now (at least for me), whatever reason for. I haven't had the problem before but got it twice yesterday with two images I had previously optimized… --elias.hc 15:02, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion for adding characters[edit]

I suggest to add Trevor Spacey and Nadia Cassel to this article to complement it more than now. Basara-kun 03:03, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merge from Nadia Cassel[edit]

Please merge relevant content, if any, from Nadia Cassel per Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nadia Cassel. (If there is nothing to merge, just leave it as a redirect.) Thanks. Quarl (talk) 2007-03-11 09:25Z

I was expected at least to pass over some information about Trevor or Nadia, not just redirect. Basara-kun 15:54, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Done at least[edit]

OK added Trevor Spacey and Nadia Cassel articles to here. This is what I want about their profile, not just redirect them. I hope you like it. Basara-kun 16:32, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Delete the personal biased criticisms?[edit]

"Random annonymous viewer agrees. Isn' better to stack all Metal Slug stuff in the same artical either? --Anon

Merging is not the answer, remember each generation of Metal Slug has different features, merging them together will cause a big mess.

What I would suggest is that we remove the personal biased points, if there's no citation: From common sense you can see the followings are very personal based review and intents to attack MS-4

Here's a summary of the problematic information: "...It is regarded by some as the worst and the second most difficult game of the series, as it was designed by a different company, was under considerable time and financial constraints, and contains mostly recycled content from earlier games."

"The game, however, reuses many backgrounds/levels, and makes minimal effort to disambiguate 4 from the other games in the series.[citation needed] The game however, does add a unique refinement to games of this genre, a bonus combo system."

And so on, check the section that needs citation and you will find the problem with it. I strongly suggest that we take those personal views.

Fair use rationale for Image:Mslug403.png[edit]

Image:Mslug403.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Continuity problem[edit]

In the article, it says that the story is set after 6 and 7. However, it is not possible that Morden is assasinated, as in 7, the player destroys the portal that the Rebellion Army from the future entered through. The exploding chaos destroyed Morden's tank, and he was thrown into the portal just before it lifted. If Metal Slug 4 is set at this time, why aren't we seeing the high-tech army of 7? If that's the case, Morden is still in the future and it is not possible that he is assasinated. My theory on why he isn't seen in 5 is because his army was decimated in 7, and therefore the alternate army started creating the chaos. Metalflame (talk) 09:18, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
