Why do we need two different articles for this? Can't we just combine everything into a single piece? - 10/24/2005

This page talks about the impact of the series, how it divereged; how the portables differ from the consoles, the over-arcing storyline etc. Metal slug 1 is a game, and should nto carry the extra stuff that pertains ot the series; --larsinio 03:43, 25 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

==meaning of metal slug==--70.190.109.238 20:45, 8 March 2006 (UTC) should this be on this page? or should it be on the Metal Slug series page.. or both? I think there shoudl be a brief mention and a "Error: no page names specified (help)." link for the full explanation[reply]

btw i finally finished all of the Contra games articles, so im gonna be working on finishing the metal slug pages --larsinio 21:17, 2 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Better if both, since the title was thought up hello mate during the production of the first game, all the while it was passed down as the series' main title. - enomosiki 11/2/2005

Metal Slug is a joke of the maker of the game. He wanted to make a joke at how sluggish the tank was and that it was metal. Hence MetalSlug--70.190.109.238 20:45, 8 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Story section is way too long[edit]

the story section is way too long, is unsourced. It should be shortened by at least half, and if possible most of the details hould be added to a Story section of Metal Slug series -- larsinio 16:18, 8 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Put Metal Slug 1 storyline on the series section? Then what's the point of making a seperate place for the first game in the first place? I'll try to cut down some parts to shorten them. As for it being unsourced, trust me, I've translated them myself from many different concept pieces with the descriptions, then patched them in proper order. - enomosiki 11/12/2005

I think we just need to seperate some of the story elements which are more series related, from the stuff that is more game related. --larsinio 14:26, 14 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

We should move the common info under the series section[edit]

Such as the weapons and the vehicles, as well as the enemies. Why put them all seperately instead of bunching them up in a single spot? Plus, the older weapons/vehicles/enemies are still used in later games, and they often overlap with other articles. The individual pages should only contain things that matters only to that release. --enomosiki 11/15/2005

Excellent suggestion! Thanks for volunteering! --Maru (talk) Contribs 06:59, 16 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Why is Gunforce 2 under the link section?[edit]

Even if Gunforce was released by Irem, the team that later worked on Metal Slug, the game itself is not part of the series. It has similarities, but they are two separate games. It's like trying to view as if Max Payne 2 is same as Grand Theft Auto 3, both being released by Rockstar and having the same 3rd person perspective. It just doesn't make sense. --enomosiki 11/21/2005

Screenshot gallery[edit]

These images have to be integrated into the article for they've only served a decorative purpose (no descriptions, no reference to the images in the article)

Orphan the rest. --larsinio (poke)(prod) 13:45, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
done. --elias.hc 14:15, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The pictures are too small and the reference is the article. Do! Run Run 15:52, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If the pictures are too small, then increase the size. I do not understand what you mean by "the reference is the article" --larsinio (poke)(prod)
That's the default thumbnail size. You can change it for your account (My preferences->Files->Thumbnail size). --elias.hc 19:33, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rocket Launcher Pronounciation[edit]

Is it just me, or does it sound a lot like how Arnold Schwarzenegger says the phrase in Commando? I mean in the scene when Arnold and Rae Dawn Chong's character are getting weapons to attack the main fortress, and Rae says "What's that?" pointing to a 4-barreled rocket launcher, and Arnold pronounces it in the exact same way that it's said in Metal Slug (Raw-ket Launchuh). Anyone else have any thoughts on this?--206.53.68.186 21:17, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent observation! When I first heard it, it sounded EXACTLY like Arnie to me! Any other thoughts?

Where does this information come from?

First Martian Appearance?[edit]

I have spotted a Martian UFO passing the background in one of the winter themed missions (Metal Slug 1), but that's long before I know wikipedia. I wonder if anyone can provide the link to an arcade/console simulator so it's possible for me to provide a screenshot as the evidence?

This is the website for "MAME32 Plus!" which is the emulator(simulator) that I use. But I can't give you the rom files as it's illegal. BrianGo28 (talk) 11:03, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

MS on the GBA[edit]

Fair use rationale for Image:Mslug103.png[edit]

Image:Mslug103.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

About the weapons/vehicles/enemies[edit]

I know it's a bit game guide like, but I really think that it isn't a real spoiler... Isn't deleting the section a bit too... something?

I'm sure people have a bit of fun reading about them... BrianGo28 (talk) 11:07, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
