Image:Me Myself I - Joan Armatrading.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Who played the guitar solo on title track?[edit]

Three people are credited with guitars on this album:

Chris Spedding – guitar Hiram Bullock – guitar Ricky Hirsh – guitar

The comment about "a stellar Chris Spedding guitar solo" references a cd universe one paragraph review that seems to assume that the solo is played by Chris Spedding. It is unlikely that a particular solo would be credited to a guitarist on the album sleeve, so this was probably an assumption on the part of the author.

A Chris Spedding biography contradicts the assumption however with a quote from the record's producer Richard Gottehrer. The book confirms that Chris Spedding played on the track, however the quote specifically attributes the solo to Hiram Bullock.

Therefore the reference to Chris Spedding playing the solo should be removed unless it is specifically verified.

Why do you think that "it is unlikely that a particular solo would be credited to a guitarist on the album sleeve"? Have we actually looked at the sleeve? I'd agree one would expect a book to be more reliable than a tiny website review of the CD. (It might even be more reliable as the book is about Spedding). But what exactly is that quote that contradicts the description? That Google Books page will not load for me. Perhaps both the note and the book: Chris Spedding: Reluctant Guitar Hero should be added as the source? Martinevans123 (talk) 10:22, 26 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I have never seen a pop album that credited a particular solo to a particular guitarist, but the main point is that the quote provides such an unambiguous contradiction of the assumption made on cd universe. Richard Gottehrer says, "I produced that record. [Chris] was great...There's an interesting story about that: The record was done and it was out, it was on the radio. It sold really well. It sold reasonably well in America for her. It sold over a million records outside of America. So he heard it on the radio one day and he called me up, it must have been like two in the morning, and he said--and I think this is very Chris--'On "Me Myself I", you know that solo? I've been listening to it, the record's on the radio, and I've been listening to it, was that me or was that Hiram Bullock playing it?' And I said, 'Well, Chris, that was Hiram.' He said, "oh my God, thank God! That was just terrible for me to play! It would have been terrible if it was me!' It was a solo that was great but thin and not at all in his style."[1]

Interestingly, the album sleeve does credit Chris Spedding specifically for playing acoustic guitar, whereas the solo was played on an electric [2]

Yes, it does, but not for any particular tracks, My vinyl sleeve says this:
"Guitars:
Chris Spedding
Hiram Bullock
  • Ricky Hirsh
12 string acoustic:
Joan
6 string acoustic
Chris Spedding"

(That * symbol is for Hirsh is for the track "Friends". The only individual musician credit for the song "Me Myself I" is for bass by Marcus Miller). And yes, I have seen plenty of albums that credit solos, or at least instruments, for individual tracks. But that quote you've provided is very clear and fully agree it should be used as a source for Bullock. Martinevans123 (talk) 17:09, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
