how is this a real page[edit]

This sounds preposterous. With all due respect to mr mccolloch and his leap, there is no way he jumped 300 feet on a white horse and didn’t end up in a rubbish pile at the cliff bottom; lest that white horse magically became pegasus in that moment. Can we get serious, please? The only reference is a 150 year old book about the west virginia panhandle, a state with 2 panhandles. Genghisbongsmongolianbbq (talk) 20:20, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Multiple Fort Van Meters[edit]

DO NOT link to Fort_Van_Meter_(Hampshire_County,_West_Virginia) - it is over 150 miles away. There are about half a dozen Fort Van Meters in Appalachia. The correct fort doesn't have a full page, I don't think there's any remaining structure or anything particularly notable about it other than this story, so it will probably never have its own page. The disambiguation page is the correct link. Mulehoss (talk) 19:59, 7 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
