United Artists[edit]

Could someone explain why the article says the lyrics talk about United Artists? The only thing I can find is the repeated "when these artists became united", and that must surely refer to the wedding? Or is it a double entendre? I think it's a Double meaning. I think it's both about United Artists and Pickford's wedding to Fairbanks. Before knowing Fairbanks and Pickford were married, it seemed to be about the formation of United Artists- all the people mentioned are founders. It uses the language of marriage to talk about entering into a partnership. Interviews confirm this interpretation, BUT I think having Fairbanks as the second start in the song is too much of a coincidence. I took the liberty to replace the old lyrics URL (which now redirects to http://katiemelua.com) and the archive URL with the current version of the song's lyrics page on Katie Melua's website.
