Corrections For Accuracy[edit]

Someone had recently added under series 8 a variant of Storm in her white costume. Such a figure does exist, but was not part of the Marvel Legends line, but rather, the X3 tie-in figures released around the same time as the movie, so I went ahead and removed it.

I edited the BAF parts that come with Winter Soldier and Captain America (movie) for the Mandroid wave, as they were mixed up. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.81.140.82 (talk) 01:09, 6 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Removed Comment about Hasbro Marvel Legends < Toybiz Marvel Legends[edit]

In case somebody is curious on why I deleted the sentence about Hasbro ML figures being worse in quaity to the Toybiz version is because it sounds like a person's opinion esp citing various forums and users as proof. While I agree that the Hasbro figures lacks the amount of paint used in the Toybiz version, the actual paint application is cleaner (no sloppy paint jobs despite what it originally said), the plastic is strudier (I do not think they are any figures by Hasbro that has the same rubber plastic feel like the later Toybiz figures,) and the sculpt quality has improved since the first HML toys.

My point is that the comment about the Hasbro figures are worse overall is bias and should be removed unless someone can cite a credible source.--Doomzaber (talk) 00:56, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Additional Notes[edit]

I've added a few details that I felt were worthy of indicating. I included more elaboration on the differences between the Hulks in the Galactus series (in particular, the heads), and made note of the Scarlet Witch's somewhat confusing release and her subsequent "rarity" in series 11. Current Topic[edit]

Removed the following: Waves 3 (Zues Series)

  • Zues(Build-a-figure)

I find no information to support this, the person who added it doesn't have an account and left not edit notes. Notice the user initially entered Hydroman and Neptune which changed minutes later to Scorpion and Pseidon. Also a varaint such as a "fire variant" would exceed the typical variant stlye of simply chaning the head or repainting. Acglass 16:32, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Previous Discussions[edit]

Added a street date for series 10 and changed angels costume info, when he was on X factor he wore a blue body suit with a yellow X more or less like Cycs costume

Im thinking of striking SW off the list, apprently shes been cancled

I would say keep her on the list--although she has been delayed for certain and possibly cancelled for good, unlike other "might-have-been" figures (like Crimson Dynamo) she actually made it all the way to packaging, twice and since some collectors have her, I'd say leave her on the list. She goes for over $100 on eBay as of right now, but I suspect she's an important enough character that Toy Biz will release her when they are satisfied with the mold. Alaren 01:26, 14 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Added the Build a Figure concept to the description. Scarlet Witch has indeed been pulled from series 11 but will, according to sources at ToyBiz, be released eventually.

Edited the Sentinel link to link to the Wiki page for Sentinels rather than the Comic title "Sentinel."

Removed "(Marvel Versus Series") from seires 8, as it was not such a series.

I have wikified the page a lot (added links on all the characters, boy that was tedious!) and added a bit more information as to the origins of the line (spun off of Spider-man Classics), the related lines, and the excitement surrounding series 13 and the cancelled henchman figures. Apologies if it doesn't show my login, I forgot I wasn't logged in when I made the edits! Alaren 01:26, 14 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Compiled much of the newly added information to flow more smoothly. Alaren 23:19, 5 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Here's that production photo with the henchmen and Crimson Dynamo if anyone wants to add it to the page. http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i20/Death-Weed/ML13.jpg DeathWeed 01:16, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Series Fourteen Variants[edit]

If there are no objections, I plan on removing the term "unreleased" from the Power Man and Psylocke lines, as a limited number of each have been available on eBay [1] and have been confirmed as genuine by the AFA. [2] I am open to replacing "unreleased" with "rare" or a similar term.Ti dave 17:39, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would leave them as unreleased as it seems these and the series 15 blue wasp figure were some sort of packaging test and those that have sold on ebay have never been through a retail outlet. (Mikey01 05:24, 28 April 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Marvel legends logo.gif[edit]

Image:Marvel legends logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Nemesis Series[edit]

I added in the Nemesis series and edited the date of the Hasbro line from 2008 to 2009. Jsager75 (talk) 13:57, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I just saw that someone had put the Nemesis series as series 4. I removed the duplicate entry and put the Nemesis series under the Wal-Mart exclusives section. Jsager75 (talk) 14:17, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestions[edit]

Suggested edit and relocation of the following from under Series 9 to have it apply to all of the Toybiz Legends:

Original - "NOTE: In some cases the Canadian release of the figures were packaged with a gold-foil enhanced mini-poster (with art by Jae Lee), instead of a comic."

Edit - NOTE: In some cases the Canadian and Australian releases of the figures were packaged with a gold-foil enhanced mini-poster featuring cover art, instead of a comic.

In Australia a large percentage of Toybiz Legends were released with a gold-foil enhanced mini-poster, including all figures from series 1-4. A citation is still needed.

This edit would include removing the figure-specific reference to the foil poster from Punisher series 4 as below, as it is superfluous to the general note:

"Punisher (White or grey belt) (with foil print or Punisher War Zone #1)"

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Suggested edit for Thing series 2:

  • Thing (with base or hat/trenchcoat/glasses, with Fantastic Four vol. 1 #263)

or addition of the following:

  • Thing (with hat/trenchcoat/glasses, Chase, with Fantastic Four vol. 1 #263)

Possibly a Wal-mart exclusive as I bought it at Big W in Australia and have seen other Wal-mart exclusives there.

Revision[edit]

Would anyone mind if I revised most of the lists for the BAF waves? They look very messy and don't mention any accessories, etc. I was thinking of organizing these waves into tables, like the non-BAF waves are currently. If no one has any reasonable objections to this, I'd like to start reworking this article. -Ryokuu (talk) 02:33, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Don't mind if you do. I added the tables for those early non-BAF waves and was planning to do the same thing for the rest but never got around to it. JLThorpe (talk) 11:32, 3 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

TOC[edit]

Is there some kind of formatting error in this article preventing a table of contents? I took a look and tried a couple things, but can't find any reason for it not to be there. Argento Surfer (talk) 18:12, 6 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

consolidation[edit]

I recommend instead of adding a new section for every exclusive, we create a section called Exclusives and then place where the vendor is in the table. Coemgenv (talk) 20:36, 26 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I think that sounds like a fine idea. Argento Surfer (talk) 20:55, 26 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

To not merge, on the grounds of WP:TOOLONG; content problems (catalogue and fancruft) are undisputed, but not solved by a merge. Klbrain (talk) 03:40, 13 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This feels like a fan-page catalogue and it's hard to imagine more than a small stump of readers plowing through those tables. BoomboxTestarossa (talk) 21:28, 20 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

That article was split from this page because this page was WP:TOOLONG. InfiniteNexus (talk) 18:42, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And both are severely lacking citations and are overlong, which suggests a lot of the information is either a) fancruft or b) not notable. Wikipedia isn't a catalogue for toy variations. BoomboxTestarossa (talk) 19:20, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This entire article is poorly laid-out fanwank.[edit]

Those massive tables are dreadful, and what accessories and stands they have is fan-wiki nonsense. I had a couple of these but am struggling to recall - were they facsimile actual comics, or was it just a backdrop? If it's the latter that's not needed either. As such at most that is really suitable can be rendered as less indulgent columns: -

Series 9[edit]

Release: February 2005

  • Bullseye
  • Deathlok
  • Hulk
  • Nightcrawler
  • Doctor Strange
  • War Machine
  • Professor X

Build a Figure: Galactus

That is all that is needed at most, and that way the page won't be too long. Unless I hear a sensible counter-argument I'll do it myself in a few days. Then it will just be the matter of tagging basically everything with Citation Needed. BoomboxTestarossa (talk) 19:45, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
