Image[edit]

The image of Martina Colombari is not visually appealing to a reader. The white square in the background completely throws off the composition of the image and you are immediately drawn to look at it instead of Colombari. Obviously this image is better than not having an image, but can someone find one better suited for her Wikipedia page? These are the only images that I could find of her. [1] Thanks! I agree. The white square is obtrusive and diverts attention away from Colombari. I have cropped the image a bit in order to make the white square smaller, as well as to center Colombari's head, and I think it looks slightly better (see the comparison to the right). However, the top right corner is still bright white, contrasting starkly with the otherwise dark background and Colombari's black dress, and attracts attention.
Other than the files on Commons, I was able to locate only three other free images of Colombari; however, they are all less than ideal:
  • This one shows the back of her head, and not her face;
  • This one is an angled closeup of her face; and
  • This one is, again, oddly angled (due to the fact that she's bending down and her head is closer to the camera) and captures her face in profile rather than directly.

@Black Falcon: Good find on the images. However, like you stated, they are not superior to the current. I would support a replacement with image you cropped and centered. I think that one best depicts Colombari. Though it is not great, it is substantially better than the current one. If you agree I'll go ahead and add your updated image to the page. Thanks!
