Kg are not units of weight[edit]

What is going on with the way this post states that the same object has different kilograms on different planets? A kilogram, by definition, cannot be used this way, mass does not change from planet to planet. Pound force or newtons are the appropriate unit, not kilograms, which should never be used for weight.

It's tricky because the metric system doesn't have a commonly used unit of weight, while pounds can be used for mass or weight. I fleshed out the caption to describe these as "equivalent masses", which I think is more accurate. Justin Kunimune (talk) 00:28, 25 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
