Merge[edit]

I've merged Market Mall (Saskatoon) to Saskatoon, per WP:LOCAL. Quarl (talk) 2006-12-30 08:34Z

Mall of the Elderly?[edit]

Who made that one up? Unless a source is provided, that's a violation of WP:NPOV so I've removed it. Yes, a lot of old people go there, but it's never been called "Mall of the Elderly" in any official fashion -- or even in the media -- especially with 2 major high schools a block away. 68.146.41.232 14:44, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's called the "Mall of the Elderly", "Gereatric Mall", or "Seniors Mall" due to having seniors high rises in the area. Mr. C.C. (talk) 09:20, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This may also be due to the fact that Osteoporosis Canada has an office here, as does Sage Senior Resources, in addition there is a denture clinic, a hearing clinic, a medical clinic, and a chiropractic clinic. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.76.80.163 (talk) 02:56, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bizarre revert[edit]

I know Wikipedia gets rather anal about sources, but I am curious as to why an IP's addition of a legitimate local newspaper source disqualifies it as a source. 23skidoo (talk) 23:46, 11 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am not biased against IPs. The date may have been correct but it did not have a verifiable source. So I reverted the good-faith edit. Also, I believe you live in Canada, and are thus able to verify the date from the newspaper. GaneshBhakt (talk) 05:13, 12 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It's not my fault if you don't have access to a print source. Until Wikipedia bans them, a print-only source is considered de facto verifiable. The onus is on you to prove it's bogus. 70.72.215.252 (talk) 18:48, 25 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Expansions[edit]

Assuming someone doesn't revert the info because they believe the Star-Phoenix doesn't exist, I have added dates and info on 3 of the 4 expansions. Googles online archive doesn't go beyond 1988 and apparently print-only sources are not allowed, so I can't add a source for the 1990s expansion. Probably means it'll be removed by someone who doesn't believe it exists, but whatever... 70.72.215.252 (talk) 18:48, 25 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Update re: Zellers[edit]

Since my edits seem to be considered invalid because I'm an IP, I'll just note here that my most recent edit was to update the article to reflect that the Zellers location is now closed and is not becoming a Target store. 70.72.211.35 (talk) 14:23, 10 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

5 anchors?[edit]

I corrected this glaring error in the infobox. In its 48-year history Market Mall has never had more than 3 anchor tenants. Since Zellers closed only Safeway qualifies as an anchor, though the newly added Service Canada offices could arguably be considered an anchor now, too, though general practice is for shopping malls not to count "service" tenants as anchors, just retail. 68.146.52.234 (talk) 02:42, 11 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Reinstated information[edit]

Someone obviously unfamiliar with Saskatoon or Market Mall removed a paragraph about the fourth expansion that added the Kmart/Zellers and the addition of Service Canada which technically is the mall's second anchor though I do not know whether the mall promotes it as such. I have put both pieces of information back. 68.146.52.234 (talk) 13:49, 15 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please read wp:burden. The burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material, and is satisfied by providing a citation to a reliable source that directly supports the contribution. Epeefleche (talk) 20:17, 15 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
So in other words you are denying the expansion exists. Are you incapable of using Google Street View? 68.146.52.234 (talk) 20:54, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The burden is on you, under wp:burden, to only re-add the information if you supply inline directly supporting RS refs. Epeefleche (talk) 03:59, 8 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Updated[edit]

Updated for the closure of Safeway and I updated the anchor count accordingly, although a replacement grocery store has been announced (same company, actually); whether it actually opens remains to be seen. 70.73.90.119 (talk) 20:40, 10 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • More updates regarding the June 2021 fire. Work on a new renovation began around the same time but I haven't been able to track down a media article on that yet. Work is still ongoing as of this timestamp. 70.73.90.119 (talk) 23:34, 3 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Anchor count[edit]

FreshCo opened a while ago, bringing the anchor number up to 3. However, some malls consider Dollarama an anchor - should it be treated as such here? If we're going based on size it isn't anchor-size, but it's considered a major tenant. 23skidoo (talk) 23:14, 31 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
