Race[edit]

I put her in Afro-Brazilians because the Portuguese Wikipedia does. Other articles indicates she's "Pardo" I guess. Hopefully this article will expand.--T. Anthony (talk) 05:32, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Black Afican?[edit]

Black African or Afro-Brazilian descent? --IANVS (talk) 17:15, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Opinions on sex, religion, etc.[edit]

Marina Silva, an evangelical protestant, is very conservative when it comes to sex, abortion, same-sex marriage, etc. That's the reason why some Brazilians, who would support her environmental program, dislike her. The Portuguese version of Wikipedia has a paragraph about it. It would be good to add one in the English version too. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Caïus Gracchus (talkcontribs) 20:08, 20 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

2011[edit]

why did she quit the greens? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kaihsu (talkcontribs) 07:10, 30 August 2014

For a combination of reasons.[1] Despite the fact that they agreed on environmental issues, there were also many incompatibilities between her and the party: She wouldn't agree with the (not so ethical but common) strategies used by the party to finance her 2010 campaign. Interference from her church's pastors during the campaign often collided with decisions taken by the party. And finally, PV is a progressive party that defends the legalization of marijuana and abortion, things that she couldn't agree with, being herself a Pentecostal Christian. —capmo (talk) 18:02, 31 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Indigenous category?[edit]

The article states that Silva has African ancestry, but one of the categories selected for her is "Brazilian people of indigenous descent". Is there any evidence that she has Native Brazilian roots as well? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.91.212.222 (talk) 08:53, 5 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
