Untitled[edit]

there are two margaret johnsons the blues singer and the piano player- the later accompanied billie holiday in 1938 and died the next year from tb at the age of 20- which would have made her about five when the other margaret johnson recorded her blues sides. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.13.35.234 (talk) 01:48, 21 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Likely dead[edit]

But it is confusing as there are 2 with this name it appears and it might be a good idea to make 2 different articles. But this one be dead by now given when she performed. Wgolf (talk) 22:14, 21 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes confusion does reign supreme. Particularly when you consider a third 'Margaret Johnson', in about the same timespan, which was one of the names that Sara Martin recorded under. Anyhow, I have enhanced the article's wording and added some more references, so hopefully the position is much clearer. It must be said that most sources are prone to muddle the two (three) individuals up.
I am not sure that splitting the article would serve much of a purpose, given that we would be left with two relatively small stubs. However, I will leave that discussion for other editors to have their say.
