Not an encyclopedic article[edit]

Of the 61 sources cited here (as I see it now), something like 36 are to sources well over 100 years old (and therefore of dubious reliability), 10 are to primary sources (or descriptions thereof), and 3 aren't references at all. Only 10 are recent (less than 50 years old), and they only deal with small parts of the content.

Apart from those problems, most of the content is discursive and coatracky, being about the genealogy of the people who held the manor and their relatives, their heraldry, other places they owned; and including direct quotations, detailed descriptions of monuments, etc. And there appears to be a considerable amount of original research, assumptions made from primary sources, too.

In short it's not an acceptable Wikipedia encyclopedia article and it needs to be severely pruned of inappropriate content and perhaps removed altogether due to lack of reliable sources. I'll start work on this shortly unless there are any valid objections based on our policies/guidelines.  —SMALLJIM  15:38, 27 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
