Construction crew composition?[edit]

After reading a book Friday that said Turner Ashby's proto-militia (which joined the Virginia militia while policing in what soon became West Virginia after John Brown's raid) started as a means of policing construction crews on this railroad, I wondered whether those railroad construction crews were immigrants (Irish were common when the B&O constructed its line to Wheeling around this time) or enslaved African Americans. However, I exceeded my research time on Friday and don't know when I'll be able to swing by the Bull Run Regional Library to research further (and by that time I may have forgotten, hence this note).Jweaver28 (talk) 16:19, 9 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Would somebody please add a map?[edit]

For one who doesn’t know western Virginia it’s hard to visualize. deisenbe (talk) 12:56, 22 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
