Union Rescue Mission (Victory Service Club)[edit]

Wondering why no mention. The site was 226 South Main for the URM (now moved to another area). And, 220 South Main for the VSC.

Related pages: On the Jericho Road; Lyman Stewart; Ferdinand Waldo Demara (with whom I worked at the URM in the early 1960s); Carl F. H. Henry (his wife, Helga Bender Henry, wrote Mission on Main Street (1955), with a chapter on the VSC). jmswtlk (talk) 23:30, 15 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

On further research, found this gem which was suggested via a quick browse of Henry's book (pg 113). The Swanfeldt building was the southern part of the complex of the '60s. The northern part shows an IOOF sign. This building hosted the Victory Service Club. jmswtlk (talk) 18:00, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
