Main Staff of the National Liberation Army and Partisan Detachments of Serbia โ†’ย ? โ€“ Coming from this conversation with @Peacemaker67, we believe brevity of this article's title could be improved, while also setting a standard for future such articles. Peacemaker67 suggested either Serbian Main Staff (Yugoslav Partisans) or Serbian Main Headquarters (Yugoslav Partisans), with "Yugoslav Partisans" in parentheses in accordance with Wikipedia:MILMOS#UNITNAME (4th and 5th paragraphs are most relevant). โ€“Vipz (talk) 05:04, 28 May 2023 (UTC) โ€”ย Relisting.ย CLYDE TALK TO ME/STUFF DONE (please mention me on reply) 18:44, 4 June 2023 (UTC) โ€”ย Relisting.ย CLYDE TALK TO ME/STUFF DONE (please mention me on reply) 04:43, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Prefer Serbian Main Headquarters (Yugoslav Partisans) as that is more recognisable, as "staff" essentially has the same meaning as "headquarters" in the Yugoslav context, but in a more general sense, "staff" means just the officers who run the headquarters rather than the headquarters as a whole. Not sure I've explained that as clearly as it is in my head though... Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 10:46, 28 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. Yes, it's unwieldy, as many of these titles are (which is why they're usually better left untranslated, as we often lose a lot in translation), but making up a name because we think this one is too long is very poor practice. -- Necrothesp (talk) 12:35, 31 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
