Inclusion of Mahatma Gandhi New Series under this article[edit]

There is a separate article about the Mahatma Gandhi New Series but I feel it would be better to include the details about the new designs under this article itself. The 'New Series' contains the redesigned currency notes which belong to the same series. AkshayAnandTalk! 02:50, 15 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. The RBI has called it a distinct series that succeeds the Mahatma Gandhi Series. See press releases announcing the new banknotes here, here, here, and here. Also refer to this page where the RBI clearly informs that the new notes are in a new series.

Disagree, both the articles (Mahatma Gandhi Series and Mahatma Gandhi New Series) are on different series of banknotes of the Indian rupee and meets the Wikipedia guidelines for notability and hence deserves an individual article. Hydloc009 (talk) 01:54, 16 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
