"Ancients" were a degree of barristers - essentially any barrister who has been called to the Bar for at least ten years. At some point I'll get around to writing an article on it; until then this is a good explanation of the system. Thanks, Ironholds (talk) 20:03, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
