This page should not be speedily deleted because... the company is notable - they are one of the largest manufacturers of radiation detection equipment (maybe even the largest) and have been in existence since 1962 as a family-owned business. I have located a couple of secondary sources about the company. Note that they are in a specialised field so don't receive huge amounts of media coverage. Add history and product information[edit]

I would like to add the following content about Ludlum Measurements to give more information about the history of the company and the types of products it manufactures. These changes are meant primarily to be informational and to help improve the page, and not to be promotional.

Changes to introduction:

Ludlum Measurements, Inc. is a designer and manufacturer of equipment for radiation detection and monitoring. Their main product line includes radiation survey meters, detectors, and monitoring systems. Ludlum Measurements also has seven other product lines including organic scintillators, photomultiplier tubes, high performance alpha-beta sample counting systems, instruments for air monitoring, plastic injection molding, and specialty technical glass.

The company is based in Sweetwater, Texas and was founded in 1962 by Don Ludlum (1932-2015). Don had previously worked for Eberline, another manufacturer of radiation detection equipment. The company employs around 475 people and has sales representatives in over 80 countries.

Ludlum Measurements, Inc. (LMI) was incorporated on February 14, 1962 in Sweetwater, Texas. Initially working out of the kitchen of his house, Don Ludlum began work on his first design, the Model 1. This instrument eventually evolved into the Model 3 Survey Meter and is still one of LMI’s best-selling instruments. The company opened its first facility at 1219 East Broadway, and moved to its current location at 501 Oak Street in 1975.

Don remained involved in the company until his death in 2015, working into his early 80s. Larry Ludlum, Don’s oldest son, became the company president in mid-2013.

Ludlum Measurements designs and manufactures radiation detection instruments and technologies to help monitor the safety of personnel and the environment. Products include survey meters and detectors, such as Geiger counters and scintillation counters, as well as area monitors, portal monitors, vehicle monitors, scalers, and sample counting systems.

LMI acquired ADIT in 1992, a manufacturer of photomultiplier tubes (PMTs) originally based in Fairfield, Connecticut. ADIT specializes in PMTs used in radiation detection and measurement devices with diameters ranging from 13 to 133 mm (0.5 to 5 in.). ADIT moved to its current location in Sweetwater in 1995.

In 1996, LMI formed Eljen Technology in Sweetwater under the guidance of Charles Hurlbut. Eljen is a manufacturer of organic scintillator products, including plastic scintillators, liquid scintillators, wavelength shifters, light guides, and accessories for assembling scintillator detectors.

In 2000, LMI formed West Texas Molding in Sweetwater, a plastic injection molding business. West Texas Molding was created primarily for its strategic importance in supplying key components to several of LMI’s other divisions, but has grown to serve customers outside of the LMI family as well. Examples of their products manufactured for LMI divisions include instrument housings, such as for the LMI Model 3000-Series survey meters, and PMT bases for ADIT and ET Enterprises.

In 2007, LMI formed ET Enterprises, Ltd. to acquire Electron Tubes, a manufacturer of photomultiplier tubes based in Ruislip, United Kingdom. The company was later moved to their current location in Uxbridge, United Kingdom. ET Enterprises’ product line includes photomultiplier tubes with diameters ranging from 19 to 130 mm (0.75 to 5 in.), photodetector modules, and associated electronics.

In 2011, LMI acquired Protean Instrument, a manufacturer of high-performance alpha-beta sample counting systems based in Lenoir City, Tennessee. The company moved to their current location in Knoxville, Tennessee in 2012. Protean’s instruments are used in applications such as drinking water monitoring, air filter monitoring, smear counting, and environmental sampling.

In 2012, LMI’s ET Enterprises division acquired Plowden & Thompson, a manufacturer of specialty glass and glass products located in Stourbridge, United Kingdom. Plowden & Thompson produces blown, cast, pressed, and drawn products in a variety of glass types and mixes. The company has made products for a diverse array of industries, including radiation, nuclear, aviation, automotive, and rail industries.

In 2018, LMI acquired 2B Technologies, a designer and manufacturer of portable instruments for atmospheric and environmental measurements based in Boulder, Colorado. 2B specializes in miniaturized instruments for measurements of ozone, nitric oxide, nitrogen dioxide, mercury, and other chemical species in air.

I see your previous version of this article includes inline sources, all sourced to the company's own website. Are there any secondary sources you can add for this? I think this could be worded in a more encyclopedic summary style rather than just as a list of acquisitions.
