Desert bus for hope expansion and seperation?[edit]

From what I see, the desert bus for hope section needs expansion. It could easily make for an article on its own. For example, one of the donators is Notch, of Minecraft fame. Then again, I've read the article of it on TVTropes, which is a bit more descriptive of this than here. Just sayin'. 24.8.248.64 (talk) 06:40, 10 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that the Desert Bus For Hope section could be expanded and separated. While the roots of the event are in LRR, the even has now take on a live of it's own, bringing in significant other parties and groups and has more than $1.75mil lifetime with just over $500k of that being done during the events of DB7. Substantial rewrite[edit]

Hi there,

I have had a go at substantially rewriting this article. The improvements I was trying to make are:

  • Clearer summary: The original summary was kind of packed with facts big and small.
  • History section: I've added one, to clear out the summary and to make discussing the shows simpler.
  • Updated content: LRR's output has shifted a lot since this article was last revised.
  • Categorised content: I've grouped types of output, and in some cases cut down on descriptions of each project to instead talk about categories.

My overall goal was to move it away from being lists of every project LRR has ever done and more towards an understanding of the type of work they make, and what changes they've seen over the years, particularly in regard to who they worked with and how they earned a living.

The biggest thing I haven't yet addressed is the lack of secondary references. I've been searching but I can find very few non-LRR sources talking about LRR. The exception is Desert Bus for Hope, which gets media coverage. But otherwise I have yet to find interviews or other coverage. If anyone can find this I'd be very appreciative. HenryCrun15 (talk)

Wow, this is a great deal of work! I agree with you removing much of the content that surrounds LRR's older/smaller projects, and the new table of contents; after all, comprehensive detail on this subject is what the official LRR wiki is for. A quick glance over your revision shows that some markup/formatting ought to be changed. I reckon I'll tackle this over the weekend. Of course, if anyone else wishes to do this, then by all means, but HenryCrun15, a fresh pair of eyes should definitely look over this, especially with regard to citations and whether there has been any substantial/important content that has disappeared in this revision. Thanks! — JivanP (talk) 21:09, 26 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A couple of updates that need to be made if we can find reliable secondary sources for them: 1. As-of December 2019, the WotC contract for Fridays Nights was terminated. LRR continues to produce the series independently on a less-frequent basis. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgXm4gMbhJs 2. Any information about the massive undertaking that was Road Quest: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxTnogTT99k&list=RDQMLK3qlY4xG8A 97.102.30.205 (talk) 15:58, 22 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
