Is the UK Rock chart actually based on sales alone ?[edit]

The UK Rock Chart cannot possibly be based on sales alone. If that was the case then the higher a song charts on the official UK Singles Sales chart then the higher it should chart on the UK Rock Chart. This has not been the case with many songs. For example the song "Rope" by Foo Fighters peaked at number 22 on the Official UK Singles Sales Chart but did not chart on the UK Rock Chart (top 40) - which shows that the Rock Chart is not based entirely on sales. Airplay must also be a factor.
