Setup for this Page[edit]

I realize this page was deleted around two years ago but I believe it is now entirely in line to recreate it, in a new form. I feel it is neccessary for it to be recreated, largely because the History of technology page is somewhat of a disorganized amalgam of information, good for people just bouncing from page to page, rather than it being a true compilation of the development of technologies throughout history. Therefore this I will try to make this page become an organized version of what the history page could have become, and so I consider this somewhat of a "pet project" of mine, meaning I'll try to add as much to it myself as I can. Of course there was obviously good reason to delete this pages old article, so I will respectfully accept if an admin asks for it to be put down. Although, ideally, I would like to be the one to add most to this page, I am grateful for any assistance in adding information, or suggestions on the format of the page. Also, spelling and accuracy checks are nice too.

How is this not original research? Wperdue (talk) 02:06, 26 May 2009 (UTC)wperdue[reply]
Well, almost all the information here comes from already verified sources on other wikipedia articles. And while it is true I did source a book as well, this source is not only reliable (pick it up at a book store and see for yourself), but I mostly just used it to be sure some of the dates were correct. Also keep in mind that, so far, all the dates are from prehistoric times, so obviously there would be conflicting information, but I assure you I spent as much time as possible to be certain that the dates were as close to the accepted ones as possible. - Caboose The Vehicle Destroyer —Preceding Caboose The Vehicle Destroyer (talkcontribs) 11:08, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, here is a link, for anyone doubting the veracity of the book, http://www.amazon.com/Science-Book-250-Milestones-History/dp/0304359181 . I am, however, no expert on wikipedia's citation rules (i.e. do I need to cite pages as well) so I'm grateful for any corrections made in this regard. Oh, and if you feel that this smells too much of original research, then go ahead and make some changes to be sure everything in the article is accepted facts. unsigned comment added by Caboose The Vehicle Destroyer (talkcontribs)

Oh no, this isn't good. Apparently, at the risk of creating a chain of wikipedia articles sourcing each other, I am forced to find alternative (read:outside) sources to use for this article. And so I will begin to find a reliable source for each date used here. This will however take a while, so I ask that this page is not wiped out before I can be finished. As usual help on this is always nice. comment added by Caboose The Vehicle Destroyer (talkcontribs) —Preceding undated comment added 02:09, 28 May 2009 (UTC).[reply]

There should be no reason why you cannot simply lift a suitable reference from the wikipages to which you link. Any pages that don't contain a suitable reference are in just as much need as you are, here, and need to be highlighted accordingly. EdJogg (talk) 13:24, 3 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
