Proposal: Complete reorganisation[edit]

This list needs complete reorganisation. I propose that it is reorganised and split by department. That is, if a line runs through a department, it is listed there. I appreciate that this will lead to some duplication, but this seems to me to be a better way to organise it than the current method. Mjroots (talk) 20:38, 22 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds like a good idea. (Then we'll all pick it apart after you're done.) Useddenim (talk) 01:20, 1 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Useddenim: - It is probably best that I work on this in a sandbox as it will be quite messy to start with. Can copy the finished list over. Mjroots (talk) 06:42, 3 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that the list could be more user-friendly. But wouldn't you rather organise it by (new) region? The longer lines run through many departments (take Paris–Marseille railway: 75, 94, 91, 77, 89, 21, 71, 69, 38, 26, 84, 13, that's 12 departments). Or maybe group them by region, and then indicate, for instance with numbers, which departments they're in. Markussep Talk 07:32, 3 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I'd prefer to keep it by department as these are roughly equivalent British counties. Listing alphabetically is the logical way. Mjroots (talk) 19:54, 4 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
