National parks or nature reserves?[edit]

There are currently four places listed as national parks. Are they really all national parks? Or are some of them instead just nature reserves? (National park gives the criteria for national park as being listed as IUCN category II).

This page from countdown2010.net specifically describes Hoge Kempen as Belgium's first national park, opened in 2006. So this seems valid, but I doubt that all of the others listed on this page have actually gained national park status since then.

I would suggest we also include nature reserves on the page, but under a separate section title. --David Edgar (talk) 10:34, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Should the page than be renamed to List of protected areas of Belgium ? --Elekhh (talk) 04:23, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
One late comment: what is call "national park" in Belgium have nothing of national since they are created by regional bylaws. Triton (talk) 13:55, 14 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
