ZAF ?[edit]

I assume it means South Africa but this Wikipedia doesn't explain the acronim.Xx236 (talk) 08:11, 20 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Xx236 I changed ZAF, a Dutch acronym, to ZA, the ISO 3166-2 code for South Africa.--Wolbo (talk) 00:58, 25 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

"Dutch origin"[edit]

The "Dutch origin" on a lot of these is vague: they're the English-language translations of rather different-sounding Dutch names, e.g. "Easter Island" as a translation of the eighteenth-century Dutch name for Rapa Nui (which is called Easter Island in English and Isla de Pascua in Spanish). It seems like an odd mix with the things named in Dutch (or Anglicized pronunciations of Dutch), or after places in the Netherlands and people with Dutch names.
