Why?[edit]

@Gulshadsaif: Why does this article focus on nett gross when no other film financial article at Wikipedia focuses on nett gross? Why not domestic gross, which would be the obvious choice for an article labeled "collection". Also, why is Domestic capitalised? Cyphoidbomb (talk) 20:29, 25 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Non-Hindi Films[edit]

Since this page is a List of highest-Domestic collection of Indian films, I feel we should include even non-Hindi films.Rajan51 (talk) 3:41, 19 February 2017 (UTC)

Or, the article could be renamed to make the scope more narrow, i.e. focused on Hindi films. The title needs to be changed anyway since "List of highest-Domestic collection of Indian films" is a bit of a grammar/conceptual mess. There shouldn't be a hyphen, Domestic should not be capitalised...I'm not even sure I understand what the title means. Should it be "List of highest domestic nett collection of Indian Hindi-language films"? Wow, that's a mouthful. Not sure that's any better. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:05, 3 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Baahubali collection[edit]

Even thiugh Baahubali 2 is a dubbed film in Hindi, it has managed to gross 437 crore. Ref - http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/entertainment/hindi/bollywood/box-office/baahubali-2-the-conclusion-box-office-collection-day-18-films-hindi-version-inches-towards-500-crore-mark/articleshow/58694969.cms I think it should be there on this page as regardless of the original language, the Hindi version is the highest domestic grosser in India. @Cyphoidbomb: Your opinion ? 31.215.192.96 (talk) 18:09, 16 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I think interested editors (preferably not me, as I am not terribly interested in nett figures) should figure out how to handle this through discussion here. I do know that you are proposing something controversial that's bound to irritate Telugu users, many of whom are already upset that Tamil is indicated as one of the languages, even though it was filmed in Tamil. I'm sure some will view your proposal as an attempt to steal recognition from the Telugu film industry.
One big issue needs to be resolved: If the scope of this particular list article is "films produced by the Hindi film industry", then it will be a hard sell to argue for including a Hindi dub. If the scope of this article is any film produced in any form in Hindi, then are we now tracking the nett revenues of American films released in Hindi in India? Seems like a confusing mess. I'm not aware of any other films where we track the financial success of dubs, and since Hindi is the dominant language/ethnic group in India, I wonder if we're not getting into a weird area where we're inadvertently setting up a pro-Hindi bias. Indian cultural stuff is really not my area of expertise. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 02:10, 17 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Tanmay Subhedar: We don't make changes unless reliable sources are included in the request. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 20:27, 2 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Dubbed films[edit]

Does the scope of this article include Hindi dubbed films as well? Asking since non-Hindi films like Baahubali 2 and KGF Chapter 2 creeped into the list. Box office India's list treats Hindi dubbed versions on par with original Hindi films, so does Bollywood Hungama. @Ab207:, In my opinion if a film is shot simultaneously in Hindi language also then it should be included in this article. Another option is to create a new section for dubbed Hindi films. Rickyurs (talk) 13:02, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Rickyurs: How about adding a note or using colour background for dubbed films? -- Ab207 (talk) 13:30, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Ab207:, I think it will not be fair to original Hindi films. There should be a separate section as there are so many dubbed Hindi films coming these days. Rickyurs (talk) 13:45, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Rickyurs: Yeah, I understand but overall there'd be only 5-6 dubbed films in the combined list, so it should not be a major concern -- Ab207 (talk) 13:56, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Ab207: @Rickyurs: this article is only about original Hindi film So, please remove dubbed Hindi language films inbox. It's not to add dubbed language films in this article. Sush150 (talk) 11:57, 1 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Sush150: How does this article pass the WP:NLIST requirements? Since reliable sources like Box office India and Bollywood Hungama track both Hindi and dubbed versions in their official list, so should we. If you intend to exclude these two sources, I don't think this lists passes NLIST at all -- Ab207 (talk) 12:26, 1 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
