trade paperbacks
I guess maybe I'm the only one who'd like to see the trade paperbacks broken down? I don't know. I guess I'd like to be able to search the page for "The Dreadnaughts of Rendili", and return something. Instead, I have to already know that it is under Clone Wars Volume 6: On the Fields of Battle. Is everyone okay with maybe listing the individual comics beneath, like ...

I don't think it would be hard to read, just having more information on the page. And on occasion, single comics might bisect the the trade paperback, timeline-wise. And others, they're just all over the place, like the Honor and Duty TPB. It contains Republic #46-48, and #78. I can understand grouping into the TPBs like in the instance of the Tales of the Jedi series, where they're all back-to-back story lines (each are just one story arc), but the Republic TPBs group story arcs. -Skope 18:57, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
The Bounty Hunters (Anthology)
Does this refer to the TPB of Kenix Kil, Scoundrel's Wages, Aurra Sing, and Boba Fett: Twin Engines of Destruction? Because this is one of the occurences that the TPB's breakdown is spread out chronologically. Kenix Kil is in 11 ABY, Aurra Sing is in 31 BBY, Boba Fett: Twin Engines of Destruction is in 6 ABY, and Scoundrel's Wages is in 3 ABY, but the anthology is listed in 32 BBY. I'm planning on removing it, but I'm just making certain that it is referring to what I think it is. --Skope 04:38, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
There is a bit of a problem as the current Jason Hall entry redirects to some obscure bands page. I don't see this as a problem but there have been speedy deletions for that entry but only in relation to the band and the notability of having and entry for the singer (who is Jason Boyd Hall anyway). I say we can claim the entry back as it would be a real pain going through all the entries and editting it so it pointed somewhere. To aovid failing into the speedy deletion trap it might be a good idea if someone mocked up an entry for him first and then dropped it in so it was clear that it isn't more of the same. Thoughts? column formatting (authors)
what was wrong with the columns under Writers, that you needed to change the formatting, Hotdoglives? As far as I saw, the previous code tag had them at an even three columns and it was fluid so that if more names were added, it stayed even... but now they're not even and are fixed height. —Skope (talk) 06:24, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

Visionaries: EU or Infinity?

New Infobox
Some folks (of WikiProject Comics, I think) created a new infobox (Supercbbox). I liked how it looked, so I modified ours (Infobox SW Comics) towards the formatting theirs used. The original content is still there. There are just four new items on the list: Schedule, Format, Issues, and Main Characters. If anyone is interested in helping with the update, just add the following code the line between "isbn" and "preceded_by"...

It doesn't really matter that much unless we add content in those headings. Schedule might be something like "Monthly" or "Weekly". Format could be "Ongoing", "Story arc", or "One-shot". Issues would really just be for series that have run their course, that way we wouldn't have to keep updating the number. Then the Main Character item is kind of self-explanatory. Star Wars Tales
The Star Wars Tales series is not canon, so I don't think the individual stories should be listed in the timeline. I think just having the TPBs listed under Infinities Era is sufficient. --Hotdoglives 01:19, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

- George R. Binks and Lil' Maul should be removed from the canon listing and put into the Infinities Era. At least Lil' Maul should- it's already in Infinities! (Why is it listed twice?) The George R. Binks thing seems ridiculous, but could very well be canon. -- Goatlegs 02:43, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Infinities logo.gif
Image:Infinities logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Dark Forces
As far as I am concerned, Dark Forces is not included in the comics canon time line. Dark Forces would be part of the literature canon. I hunted through the Star Wars: The Comics Companion I have next to me, and this thing doesn't show up as a comic. Hunting the internet and asking fellow fans discovers that the Dark Forces trilogy are books, as well as audio books. I think they should be removed, then. -- Goatlegs 02:40, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
They are graphic novels published by dark horse, basically comics without word balloons

Image issue(s)
The fair use of image:Hansolo-al williamson.jpg in this article is questionable. Listed below is/are the reason(s) for this:
• Significance: Non-free content is used only if its presence would significantly increase, or its lack would significantly hinder, understanding the topic of the article. Full policy
The art itself is not germane to a list of the comics. And where it is, it is just decoration.
If the above concern(s) can be addressed in light of the relevant policies and/or guidelines, the image use can be retained. If not, the image needs to be removed from the article.
The issue with Hansolo-al williamson.jpg has been addressed.

Not Helpful
This article isn't helpful to the casual reader. I was a Star Wars nut when I was a kid but I still can't figure this out. If I, like other Earthlings, want to figure out how my real-life comic books from the late 1970s fit in, then I am at a loss. How the narrative in the comics fit in to the invented year system is trivially interesting, but certainly secondary information to the primary information of when the books appeared on Earth.
Perhaps the list can become a table that can be adjusted to sort by Earth dates AND by the fictional dates – that would seem to satisfy both interests. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.152.24.253 (talk) 15:09, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Yes, this page is entirely useless from an encyclopedia perspective. And in response to Raven, wouldn't it make more sense to include Marvel and simply note that it's not cannon? If you're attempting to create an in-universe, in-continuity database, it should be done somewhere else. nindustrial (talk) 07:25, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
The best bet for an article that is more accessible to a general reader, is to start an out-of-universe outline of the various publications at Star Wars (comics) (which redirects here), see for example: Star Trek (comics). You can include the trade paperback collections too. If sections get too large we can discuss splitting some of to "Star Wars (Marvel Comics)" and "List of Star Wars comics reprints." This page can then act as support for that main page for people looking for the canon in-continuity chronology. (Emperor (talk) 00:06, 27 April 2010 (UTC))

merging some information over
- Star Wars (comics) has a partial list also, complete with dates in a proper chart format. Anyone got a bot to convert what's here now into a chart? The name of the series, the writer, the year it was published in, and then the year it takes place in, plus the name of the publisher. Just read the data that is there now, and then put it in a chart, and leave blank the areas not there for others to fill in later. Dream Focus 17:05, 9 August 2014 (UTC)
I wanted to suggest this format at least for the Cannon comics, in order to provide a publication date in contrast to each comic place in the fictional timeline. I was thinking something like this, but updated to today's date. I already changed it on the main article and it's updated there, at least for the canon comics do the legends here's the format
