Cover[edit]

There is an issue between Ryulong and me (again...) about what image should be used. The key visual or the DVD cover. I decided to use the DVD cover because that's actually discussed in the article.Tintor2 (talk) 00:05, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There was no mention of any DVDs or Blu-Rays on this page until you made this edit. MOS:ANIME says "For content which falls under the NFCC guidelines, only one image should be used to illustrate the work; please do not replace or change an existing image for regional or volume reasons." I'm assuming that this falls under the "volume" reason. And my argument is thusly: a key visual showing the Yu Narukami and Marie is more illustrative of this article than volume 1's cover art which just has Narukami. There is no requirement that a DVD/BD cover be used over any other images. The primary issue that WP:NFCC must meet is that it must have contextual significance. A single DVD cover out of however many volumes this series is going to churn out is not contextually significant compared to what the production company released to promote the series.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 00:14, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
There is no requirement that key visuals should be used. With DVDs we are actually illustrating something discussed in the article. With keyvisual we are only illustrating the logo. Check FL episode lists such as Code Geass' for examples of images.Tintor2 (talk) 01:25, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I tend to agree with an image that relates to what the article is about, in this case DVD release information. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 01:29, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No one is in the wrong here, merely a conflict of interest. I tend to replace key visuals with disc covers (BD preferably) when they become available. As a compromise, it may help having Marie in the cover and therefore maybe we should wait until a cover with Marie gets released. —KirtZMessage 02:49, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
But there is no information on the DVD release information on the article. It is a single sentence. And the key visual here is a piece of promotional artwork intended to be used for identifying the subject. It has more contextual significance than any DVD cover that just shows one of the shows characters and some graphics rather than having multiple characters and other concepts illustrated in the key visual.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 04:53, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
And Tintor2 you broke 3RR [1], [2], [3], [4]. Just because the discussion is now on the talk page doesn't give you the right to restore your version again particularly when you did it long before either Knowledge kid or KirtZ ever showed up to say something. Why the hell does this always happen when I get into these fucking stupid disputes on anime article content? Why can't you respect WP:BRD? You made a bold edit to change the image, I reverted you, and then we edit warred despite my multiple requests that you begin a discussion here to gain consensus. But you ignored all of it, played it off like I was making another impossible request that's disrupting your ability to produce article content, and as soon as it seemed I would get off your case for doing as I asked you just restore what you wanted anyway. I am tired of this behavior from everyone around me. You should know better than half of the people that I get into these petty fucking disputes with that ends up with me being blocked for having dared to be part of the dispute despite the fact that I was demanding that a discussion take place every god damn time.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 04:54, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • If you are only going to use one image, then the official DVD image is what should be used, not some random poster someone thought was nice. This is an episode list after all, not a main article about this series. The article for List of Persona 4: The Animation episodes today had Ryulong put another image he liked there instead of the DVD for it. [5] For the article about the game at Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 we use the cover art for the game. I don't know why you would ever use any image but the official one in the infobox for any sort of entertainment media. Dream Focus 03:57, 20 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
What significance does volume one of a TV show's video releases have to do with the entirety of the TV show's broadcasts? Nothing. His is why title cards are used over singular DVD covers on every other list other than the anime ones for some reason.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 06:36, 20 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Colour contrast problems[edit]

It seems that this article is using colours in the infobox which don't satisfy Wikipedia's accessibility guidelines. The contrast between the foreground colour and the background colour is low, which means that it may be difficult or impossible for people with visual impairments to read it.

To correct this problem, a group of editors have decided to remove support for invalid colours from Template:Infobox television season and other television season templates after 1 September 2015. If you would still like to use custom colours for the infobox and episode list in this article after that date, please ensure that the colours meet the WCAG AAA standard.

To test whether a colour combination is AAA-compliant you can use Snook's colour contrast tool. If your background colour is dark, then please test it against a foreground colour of "FFFFFF" (white). If it is light, please test it against a foreground colour of "000000" (black). The tool needs to say "YES" in the box for "WCAG 2 AAA Compliant" when you input the foreground and the background colour. You can generally make your colour compliant by adjusting the "Value (%)" fader in the middle box.

Please be sure to change the invalid colour in every place that it appears, including the infobox, the episode list, and the series overview table. If you have any questions about this, please ask on Template talk:Infobox television season. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 05:30, 2 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
