The Bermuda Gang[edit]

There are absolutely no sources on any such thing as the Bermuda gang mentioned in this article.

Not only is it highly unusual for a gang to have existed from 1863 to 1930, but the first and only mention of such a gang comes from this article.

Upon further research, it appears that the edit came from an IP address that is now blocked. Said IP Address seemed to have been a troll, as its other edits (which all follow the same grammatical style) are of such a nature. Without any historical source cited, or any other information on a gang of the name, I believe that it should be deleted from the article. One purpose of list articles is to serve as an index to articles about a common subject. Lists generally have inclusion criteria and for this list it includes a notability requirement. That means one should be able to make a stub for each notable gang. Since the "Bermuda Gang" is the only gang without a wiki-link it could be removed on the grounds it is not notable. Alternatively, one could request a citation. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 22:24, 12 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
So I have tagged "Bermuda Gang" as needing a citation because this entry appears to have been added by one IP address that was blocked then amended by others. However, the edit history also indicates other fictional gang names have been added, too. There have also been attempts to add (fictional?) gang names related to games and on-line gaming. Perhaps the veracity of all the other gang names with red links need to be tested by citing a reliable source for the name. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 23:12, 12 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
So I decided to do some research. The Burrow gang is apparently very real, and refers to the gang led by Rube Burrow, who has an article on this very website.
The Greer Gang, the Farrington Brothers, the Ketchum gang, and the McCarty gang are real too.
The Lee gang is not directly mentioned but an archived newspaper from 1885 in Oregon (which I may link here) refers to a gang led by "noted desperadoes Jim and Pink Lee". The Mes Gang is a more obscure New Mexican gang.
I shall update the rest of the users on the verity of these gangs mentioned. RooinMahmoodsNewAcc (talk) 05:33, 13 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
