Confused[edit]

1. Why is Pete Maravich mentioned in the text but not included in the list?

He is mentioned as being the all-time NCAA points leader but is not on the list because he never grabbed 1,000 rebounds.
Gotcha. I should've figured that out.

2. What is meant by "However, of these leaders, the only one who holds the absolute Division I record in his category is Tom Gola, whose 2,201 career rebounds remain the most ever. The all-time records for points, games played and height are held by other players." I don't understand "however" in this context. What's the contradiction? I also don't understand what "absolute" means here. I don't want to edit this text without knowing what the author was getting at.

I changed the wording a little, but it means that Tom Gola's 2,201 rebounds, which are the highest total of rebounds on the list, is also the highest career rebound total in NCAA history. -Jrcla2 (talk)(contribs) 04:44, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Makes sense. I'm going to reword this further, for even greater clarity. We'll see whether you like it.Sharon Leigh Wilson (talk) 09:40, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

NCAA[edit]

"Division I" means Division I of the NCAA, so I think it would be good to mention the NCAA. When that's done, "collegiate" becomes redundant. That's why I changed the text from "Division I college men's" to "NCAA Division I men's." But I don't know how to change the title of the page to match. If anyone agrees with my thinking and knows how to change the title of the page, would they please do so?Sharon Leigh Wilson (talk) 01:56, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've moved the page to make it clearer to the reader as to what to expect within the article. -Jrcla2 (talk)(contribs) 04:44, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • These players never had 1000 rebounds'. Read the title of the article. Jrcla2 (talk) 03:07, 20 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
