Bungee Jumping of Their Own[edit]
Technically, this could be listed as tragedy, except that the film takes reincarnation for granted, and one of the characters has already been reincarnated. Thisisnotatest (talk) 05:43, 27 August 2011 (UTC)
Transgender/Drag Queen Relationships[edit]

How is categorization being determined?[edit]
How is the sorting into various storylines being determined? As far as I can tell, the entire article seems to be unsourced and solely WP:OR and editor judgement. What prompts whether a film goes under "with tragedy" or "persecution" or "historical event" or just "with LGBT characters" (and is that even a storyline)? Are there other examples of "by storyline" pages that may do a better job of this that we can look at?--Yaksar (let's chat) 21:23, 25 May 2021 (UTC)

- Thanks. That could work, but may be tough -- there isn't some sort of accepted "types of storyline," and it would still largely be arbitrary. For the same reason that you don't see "Action movies by storyline" with "familial revenge," "criminal mayhem," "terrorists vs. police," or "drug-fueled crime" -- these aren't really storylines so much as "themes or observations about films decided fairly arbitrarily." Hell, even the most straightforward parts, of which are male relationships and female relationships, aren't really always actual storylines as much as an aspect of the film. I may ask the Film Wikiproject for thoughts that may be helpful!--Yaksar (let's chat) 14:15, 26 May 2021 (UTC)

I think we could start by using pages like List of LGBT-related films by year, Films about intersex, and List of LGBT-related films directed by women, and even List of LGBT-related films to start off in fixing this page. @User:Isaidnoway, since you've made some recent edits to this page, do you have any thoughts for how to improve categorization on this page? --Historyday01 (talk) 13:45, 5 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Historyday01 and Yaksar: - Basically, storyline can be defined as the Plot (narrative) or Narrative of the film. So as it stands right now, the article is original research, and it has existed like this for 15 years, and sadly has gone unchecked, which has resulted in over 750 unsourced entries. Some of the articles I clicked through on, do verify the plot/storyline like the "conversion therapy" articles, but other articles listed like as "with tragedy" and "parenting" do not. Potential solutions - merge some entries into list articles like List of LGBT-related films by year or List of feature films with LGBT characters. I would absolutely support right now removing and/or merging the entire section Films with LGBT characters, because "characters" is not defined as a storyline or plot, those are merely characters in the film, and there is already an article for "characters" - List of feature films with LGBT characters. Boldly and immediately removing and/or merging that section would make a big difference, and make the rest of the article more manageable. I also somewhat agree with Yaskar that the sections male relationships and female relationships are ambiguous and questionable as well, like Another Gay Movie, I wouldn't define that movie as a male relationship in the traditional sense of two gay males in a relationship, it's about four gay friends wanting to lose their virginity. - Isaidnoway, that sounds like a good idea to me. I'd definitely support removing or merging the Films with LGBT characters section (leaning more toward removing), as there is already a page for that subject, and I agree with merging some entries into those two pages you mentioned. For the future record and for whichever editors who may approach this that are bolder than I am, I fully agree with the approach suggested by Isaidnoway on a removal of the characters section, and likely a potential larger merge of the entire page.
