Started[edit]

Started the article because a few of the supporting characters needed some further details, but did not deserve their own pages yet. The mini-descriptions still need some work though. --Misterkillboy 09:39, 14 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Do we really want to keep Victor Miller on this list? He only appeared in one episode. Granted his appearance had a bearing on the overall plot, but keeping a one-off character on the list seems a bit much. Same for Lisa Whalley. I don't remember seeing her in the show, or even mentioned in the show, since Skylar threw a magazine in her face. 199.79.222.119 16:55, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've made some edits[edit]

Thought i'd let you know that i've put April Green under former characters, since she was killed off as of 3.28.07. AND WHO PUT SARAH MASON UNDER FORMER CHARACTERS?! i've deleted that since she is NOT a former character. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.128.186.205 (talk) 00:57, 29 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Hawkins was seen burying Sarah Mason in the woods so it can be safely assumed that she is a former character. However, Jonah Prowse is still alive and he is listed as a former character. in an online interview someone asked about his status on the show. The producer said that unless you see someone die onscreen don't count them out. Its a good idea then to put Jonah back onto the active roster. 74.69.159.42 12:57, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh sorry, I must have missed that episode. 24.128.186.205 21:48, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Goetz and Ravenwood[edit]

Should we put these guys in? They've caused some trouble.

In agreement, there is currently a small bit about them on the Jennings & Rall page but the clearly need their own page. I wish I knew how to request things. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mupton (talkcontribs) 00:37, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re-Organization[edit]

The article would be much better if all the mini descriptions for characters with seperate articles were taken out, and those characters placed in a table (like Characters of Lost). I made the table but it was removed. Then all the minor characters would be place underneath with mini descriptions (again, like Characters of Lost).

Here's my proposed table:

Picture Name Portrayed by Occupation/Status
File:Jerico bios photo michael gaston.jpg Gray Anderson Michael Gaston Salt Mine owner/operator
File:Jerico bios photo kenneth mitchell.jpg Eric Green Kenneth Mitchell Deputy Mayor
File:Jerico bios photo pamela reed.jpg Gail Green Pamela Reed Mayor's wife
File:Jerico bios photo skeet ulrich.jpg Jake Green Skeet Ulrich Unknown
File:Jerico bios photo gerald mcraney.jpg Mayor Johnston Green Gerald McRaney Mayor
File:Jerico bios photo lennie james.jpg Robert Hawkins Lennie James Unknown
File:Jerico bios photo sprague grayden.jpg Heather Lisinski Sprague Grayden Teacher
Stanley Richmond Brad Beyer Farmer
File:Jerico bios photo ashley scott.jpg Emily Sullivan Ashley Scott Teacher
File:Jerico bios photo erik knudsen.jpg Dale Turner Erik Knudsen Student, Former Grocrey Store Employee

If it needs adjusting or characters added that have star billing, go ahead and edit it.

Preferably, Jake and his family up top.

What happened to the pics? That's happened to all the pics to do with Jericho characters. Almost... 211.30.215.168 06:08, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Check this out. They were missing fair use rationale.--Kamikaze 08:52, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Main vs. minor characters[edit]

Cwk14724 is continually adding minor characters to the "Main characters' list, despite the fact that his changes are contrary to the CBS Jericho website character list. I'm tired of dealing with this, but it should be resolved in some manner - so I'd appreciate some input from other editors. Here's the discussion from today: --Ckatzchatspy 21:13, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion at User talk:Cwk14724 after the first change

Please stop rewriting the Jericho pages to "promote" minor characters. Only certain characters are identified as "main" or primary roles, and this decision is made by the television network and the production company. Wikipedia articles have to follow these decisions; it is not our role to decide who is a main character and who is a minor character. For assistance, I again ask that you refer to the Jericho website at [1]. Thank you. --Ckatzchatspy 19:35, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Since you're active on the Jericho pages, though, you may be interested to see that Shoshannah Stern ("Bonnie") is listed on the web site. As such, she could be added to the list. Cheers. --Ckatzchatspy 20:16, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

after the second change

Why are you so insistent on doing this? You're pushing the 3RR rules, you're going against established Wikipedia conventions for TV articles, and you're presenting information that is factually incorrect. What's the rationale for this course of action? --Ckatzchatspy 20:36, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

discussion moves to User talk:Ckatz#Jericho characters

Dude, the only reason they are listed a main charachters is because that is what the Jerichowiki page says on cbs.com. Also they all have pictures and Depty Bill and Jimmy have maine articles that I wrote

Again, check the show's page at CBS.com. That is the list of characters - 12 in total, not including any of the ones you added. The fact that you created an article about a character on a TV show does not make him or her a "main" character, it just means that there is an article. You can still link to your article from the entry in the "minor" characters section. --Ckatzchatspy 20:33, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
On the JerichoWIki page on cbs, Jonah, Gracie, and Mimi are listed as main characters. As far as april green, she is a very important roll. I see where you are coming from with Mary. As as for The Deputies article, they have main articles. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cwk14724 (talkcontribs)
Once again, it does not matter if you, or I, or a TV reviewer, or anyone else thinks a particular role is "important". The show's producers and the network decide who the "stars" are, and who gets promoted as such, in conjunction with union agreements. The Jericho "Wiki" is not the same as the official site, and - even if it was - the deputies are listed under "supporting characters". I could write an article about the guy who died from radiation poisoning (just as you did for the two deputies) but it still wouldn't make him a main character. I'm going to restore the list to what it should be based on the official CBS website, as your own examples prove that the changes you've made do not reflect the actual character list. Please take your concerns to the article talk page if you wish to seek a change, rather than just changing the article over and over again. Thanks. --Ckatzchatspy 20:53, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures:[edit]

All the pictures randomly appear at the bottom of their part of the article, which is ugly. Someone add the caption too, I don't know what it should look like. 211.30.223.128 07:12, 10 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merging minor character articles[edit]

Some of the articles about minor characters are really... well, not great, to be polite. There are quite a few that could easily be returned here without losing any important details. For example, the two articles about the deputies (Jimmy Taylor and Bill Erikson) are little more than descriptions of every minor action the characters have done.

From Jimmy Taylor: "In Blackjack Jimmy and Jake went to check on various towns people after a dramatic tempature drop, When Jake find the dead body of a resident Jimmy says in a soft and compasionate voice, "The tempature dropped so quickly." In the same episode, Jimmy tells Robert Hawkins that a woman was looking for him."

If the characters were more important, or likely to develop in any meaningful way, it might be worth considering a rewrite. however, given how most of them won't go that route, I'd like to propose that we seriously consider merging the small amount of relevant information into this list and doing away with the "Minor characters" table. Thoughts? --Ckatzchatspy 06:56, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Massive expansion of the page[edit]

What happened here? The page ballooned with what appears to be every character who ever appeared, no matter how minuscule a role. Is this appropriate? (As well, the "main characters" section was messed up again.) Thoughts? --Ckatzchatspy 21:05, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The original page is woefully lacking in character information in various fields, backgrounds, status, personality etc. and needs a major work-over. And if you look closer, you'll see most of them have appeared more than once, as if you watch the series long enough you'll see some of the faces repeatedly being seen in different episodes. What do you think?(~~Gameshadow~~)

The question you have to consider is that of notability. Many characters may appear in the background, or have the (very) occasional line. However, that does not make them noteworthy for an encyclopedia. Recently, the page has been massively over expanded with complete disregard to who is a main character, correct tense, and so on. All it does is make the page confusing and hard to read. Again, not encyclopedic. --Ckatzchatspy 23:05, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Gracie Leigh (Jericho character), Allison Hawkins articles merge proposal[edit]

I suggest the merge of Gracie Leigh (Jericho character) with this article. The character appeared in very few episodes and, according to the plot, she is dead. The information in the article is not much and, moreover, most of it can be omitted as it's not important. -- Magioladitis 15:53, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest the merge of Allison Hawkins with this article. The character appeared in very few episodes. The information in the article is not much and, moreover, most of it can be omitted as it's not important. -- Magioladitis (talk) 00:12, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Today, I merged four articles (the two above, "April Green", "Bonnie Richmont") to the main article. I tried to keep almost all the information (it wasn't a lot) and removed some fancraft small things. -- Magioladitis (talk) 15:31, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I just merged "Bill Kolher" as well. The article was just a detailed description of the character ("he shoots and then runs..."). I kept much of the text and added to the main article. -- Magioladitis (talk) 21:59, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I am sorry I had to act faster but since all the characters articles are nominated for deletion, I had to be a little bold. I merged the remaining three minor characters in the List of characters (Sarah Mason (Jericho character), Skylar Stevens (Jericho character), Jimmy Taylor). I am pretty sure that there is a consensus about these characters. Afterall, it was something to be done before this nomination. Of course, if someone still believes that instead of converting the articles into redirects, please feel free to express it. The discussion about the articles is being held here. -- Magioladitis (talk) 16:09, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I merged "Gail Green" today. Heather Lisinski needs merging as well but I may need help with that one. -- Magioladitis (talk) 13:48, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Heather Lisinski merge proposal[edit]

I merged "Heather Lisinski" today. I hope none has problem with that. This completed the series of merging as discussed in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Johnston Green and other places. -- Magioladitis (talk) 19:04, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oakshade reverted my merge of Heather Lisinski. So, I would like people to vote of they agree with the merge or not. -- Magioladitis (talk) 19:17, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose to such a redirect. There's too much topic-specific information to be merged into this already long article. --Oakshade (talk) 19:20, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Most of the information can be trimmed by removing unnecessary plot details which don't help to understand the character better. I think all the characters can be trimmed to the size of "Stanley Richmond". -- Magioladitis (talk) 19:23, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Support the merger proposal. As noted by me on the Talk: Heather Lisinski page, the article is too long and reads like fancruft. I believe it should be dramatically shortened and merged into the main article. 63.3.19.1 (talk) 12:31, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As the person who wrote 90 to 95 percent of the article (mostly as an anonymous user), I don't agree with the "fancruft" observation, but I do agree with the idea of merging this article into the main list of characters article. CIngramAOL (talk) 03:46, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with the merge proposal. The show is cancelled. 66.222.161.92 (talk) 03:57, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with the merge because every other character (I think) other than Jake Green and Robert Hawkins has been merged into List of Jericho characters. Jake and Hawkins do deserve their own articles, since they are the major characters. The other characters can share a page (or two, see below). -- Imperator3733 (talk) 05:04, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As a matter of practicality, I have added a second paragraph to the Heather Lisinski section of this main article which adequately covers her role and activities in the series. The Heather Lisinski article can now be easily redirected here if such a consensus is reached. CIngramAOL (talk) 08:15, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Perfect. I think we can organise the List of Jericho characters in an optimal way. -- Magioladitis (talk) 09:05, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I also agree that the article should be merged. Capricorn74 (talk) 12:41, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I merged "Heather Lisinski" some minutes ago per discussion above. The discussion last 8 days and participated 7 users (5 registered and 2 anonumous IP's). This completed the series of merging as discussed in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Johnston Green, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Emily Sullivan and other places. The general idea of the consensus was that we have to keep the articles for the series' two main characters and convert to redirects the rest of them. -- Magioladitis (talk) 13:19, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks -- this makes perfect sense to me. I have slightly expanded the description of this character on the main page. CIngramAOL (talk) 13:39, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You additions are very nice. I am myself not very good in summaries that's way I just copy-pasted the information from the character articles. I think we have to trim "Emily" a bit in order to cover the problems notice by another editor. It seems that, the overall result will be very fine. -- Magioladitis (talk) 14:09, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Just did a quick cleanup on the Emily section. I may finesse it some more later. CIngramAOL (talk) 15:30, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deceased/written out characters[edit]

This section violates WP:FICTION. Articles must be written in present continuous tense. None of these characters is dead in the first episode for example. I think we have to merge this section into the others. -- Magioladitis (talk) 12:54, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I merged the section into the other sections. A character may be "dead" in episode 4 but alive in episode 1. -- Magioladitis (talk) 21:59, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Split the article?[edit]

Since this article is getting a bit long, I was wondering what people would think about spliting the article into List of major Jericho characters and List of minor Jericho characters. That would split the article roughly in half and would make it easier for people to find information easily. Let me know what you think. -- Imperator3733 (talk) 04:00, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Most of the character profiles need a heavy trimming. The problem was caused because I just copy-pasted the individual articles here hoping that someone will help with trimming. After trimming and cleanup, we could split in two articles, judging by the article's size. -- Magioladitis (talk) 09:16, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

After (partial) trimming, with the help of TTN, information already looks better. -- Magioladitis (talk) 08:46, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I removed:

  • Deputy Riley (portrayed by Robert C. Koch)
  • Randy Payton (portrayed by Theo Rossi)
  • Shep Cale (played by Vic Polizos)
  • Chief Carol (portrayed by Alex Carter)
  • Colonel Hoffman (played by Titus Welliver)
  • Sheriff Dawes (portrayed by Leon Russom)

All of these characters appear for a few minutes in a single episode. -- Magioladitis (talk) 20:21, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dead talk pages for characters[edit]

Although the character articles have been merged, many of the talk pages - now orphaned - still remain. Should they be deleted? Are they supposed to be left in place? What's the policy? 63.3.19.1 (talk) 00:45, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wow. That's a good question. There is a discussion, which just started, held in Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Empty talk pages of redirects about something very similar. Please check and express your opinion as well. -- Magioladitis (talk) 10:19, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry - I came back very late to this issue. I see that the other discussion ended with a decision to redirect the talk pages (which I think is a much better idea than leaving pages for vanished articles). Should a similar discussion be held for the Jericho talk pages or is the other conversation pertinent enough to be a basis for a similar decision in this case? 63.3.19.1 (talk) 12:58, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Please be bold and convert all talk pages to redirects. -- Magioladitis (talk) 13:57, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have converted all of the character talk pages that already existed (that I found) to redirects. -- Imperator3733 (talk) 15:43, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Good job. -- Magioladitis (talk) 15:55, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Who is Shep Kale? Jake makes a reference to a character named Shep Kale in season1 episode 22 at 15:10. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.184.83.66 (talk) 16:46, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Prowse, Sullivan[edit]

Is it ever explained why Jonah Prowse's children are named Sullivan? —Tamfang (talk) 08:18, 12 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

repetition[edit]

Events that involve two or more characters are described two or more times; what can we do about that without damaging the biographies?

By the way, Project Red Bell redirects to an article that does not mention Project Red Bell. —Tamfang (talk) 02:23, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
