Potter & Bond[edit]

Yeah, keep repeating that they are "British films" often enough and maybe someone will buy it. These are American productions, made with American money, written by Americans and directed by Americans. Sorry, luv, but they only thing English about them are the accents of the cast & crew. Lol very funny, I take it your joking right? Cus Potter films are based directly on books by an English author, directed and produced by British men (yeah the producer went to an american uni but thats it, his nationality is british). The bond films are being produced by EON Productions, which is based in England, with a German director, yes the producers are American but the company employing them is British, so using British money :) Need I give more examples of why these are far more British then American?86.20.80.248 (talk) 21:06, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

They are filmed at British studios with British crews. I suspect that Guy Hamilton and Mike Newell and David Yates might find it odd that you think that they are American. MarnetteD | Talk

Perhaps you've heard of this new website (although, it being based in the UK I'm surprised you haven't) called IMDB.com. Check the current director of Bond for starters. The owners of EON are do believe are Cubby's American child & step child. They ARE the Bond franchise, nothing gets done without their approval (hence the crappy run of Brosnan ones that nevertheless made money) . Then start checking the writers for of the Potter films, not to mention the first director. Those are WB Productions and it's they who call the shots. You think JK Rowling is dictating who is in charge of the series? She couldn't even get her choice of director (which was, surprise, an American - Terry Gilliam, although he is very Anglicized these days).

Only thing pathetic here mate is you trying to claim these films as American, when clearly there British. Straight from wiki on EON "The company is based in London's Piccadilly and also operates from Pinewood Studios in the United Kingdom". The writers of the Harry Potter films? Yeah it's such hard work to copy and paste the lines from the book that makes them far more notable then JK Rowling? As for the directors, Philosopher's Stone - American, Prisoner of Azkaban - Mexican, Goblet of Fire - British, Order of the Phoenix, Half-Blood Prince - British. Thats 1 from USA, 1 from Mexico and 2 from the UK. David Heyman, the producer is also British.
