Removal 11/7/11[edit]

I have removed the BBC Southampton as production centre as it is already mentioned in the list. Also unreferenced statement that BBC South is biggest region. Also, what is the information based on? Rafmarham (talk) 17:26, 11 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

My addition of OBH Manchester for a former site was based on the fact I worked there!!! I note there are numerous duplicate entries - i.e. NBH Manchester is in Significant BBC properties , Local regional properties , Properties that broadcast radio. The only way out is to redesign/redesignate the tables.--Keith 21:38, 11 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I removed only the BBC South bit from production centres as as far as i know it is not a major production centee. The claim that it was the largest region was also unreferenced. It was that bit i removed. It is useful to include old BBC properties, and applaud your addition. NBH is also in numerous lists because each list os to easily identify which properties house what easily. Rafmarham (talk) 20:30, 17 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Additions 19/7/11[edit]

Strangely I cannot validate the Dickenson Rd, Manchester, entry, as I never had chance to go there!! But I dont think there is any question of its existance!!!. The Longsight Church, Birch Lane entry, I passed every schoolday for 2 years in the late 60's. The building had been totally gutted, allowing 2(-3?) OB vehicles to be parked securely inside. It was vacated when the new Oxford Rd complex opened, and the site was sold. The church has since been demolished, leaving the "garage" baseas a reminder today. I always referred to it as Plymouth Grove as this was the other street it was on the corner of.

There were also a suite of offices at one time (early 70's again) in Peter House, Oxford St, Manchester - now the location of Googles offices in the UK - I havent any docs to confirm this location yet --Keith 11:07, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Removal 3/4/12[edit]

I removed the TV service from Barrow in Furness as it was labelled as part of the North East & Cumbria region. I live in West Cumbria and I know that although it is part of BBC Radio Cumbria broadcast area it falls under the North West tv region broadcast from Manchester (possibly now Salford) not the North East & Cumbria region broadcast from Newcastle upon Tyne. I does sound crazy but Barrow's transmitter is Morecambe Bay and that is a main transmitter for BBC North West & itv Granada. I think it may have tv studios there but it certainly isn't part of BBC North East & Cumbria.

Also I notice BBC's Westminster Studios at 4 Millbank, London isn't listed, does the BBC not own this Building?

Will1701 (talk) 08:56, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. The list was originally created using the About the BBC buildings source and so only listed properties that housed a service. News bureaux was not included. However, a Freedom of Information request has since been found and I am undertaking the long task of adding to the list. As to Millbank, it is owned by ITV, but the BBC do rent floorspace in the building. Again, it is not added as I haven't got that far. Rafmarham (talk) 08:36, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

BBC Radio Cumbria in Workington[edit]

The BBC had an office I remember in Workington, near the town centre, 40-42 Falcon Place, CA14 2EX (Postcode approximate). I don't know whether there was any studios but it did have BBC Radio Cumbria written on the outside Will1701 (talk) 19:03, 23 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Gross inaccuracies[edit]

This article contains a number of blatant and gross inaccuracies. The first sentance states the BBC 'owns' the properties - when it is factually correct they to NOT own a vast number of these properties. The BBC has been on a major property disposal over the last 15-ish years. Many of these so-called 'BBC' properties are actually just rented! 194.75.238.4 (talk) 11:39, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Surely a brief alteration to state that the list covers properties either owned or occupied by the BBC would remove the Gross innacuracies that the section states. Rafmarham (talk) 17:50, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I have altered the introduction to remove this point - it was knit picking to my mind and easily rectified. As a result, the box has been removed declaring inaccuracies. I have also removed the citation needed request for the BBC's headquarters as the fact that the BBC's HQ is Broadcasting House is common knowledge. Riverside?[edit]

Absent entries[edit]

The BBC used Riverside Studios in Hammersmith - Doctor Who and Steptoes of the 1960s were made there. Two studios. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:C7D:C62D:B00:3929:4650:E2E3:B9F4 (talk) 16:30, 16 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I see no mention of several former buildings -

Queen Street, Edinburgh

Thistle Lane, Edinburgh, where production relocated for I think 3 years while the Queen Street property was redeveloped in the 1980s

Bath Street, Glasgow

Belmont Street, Aberdeen

I suggest a reference to the previous BH Aberdeen based at Beechgrove Terrace. The present building was built on the grounds of the former which was demolished

Concorde Road, London

Greenwood Theatre, London — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.28.12.232 (talk) 21:17, 9 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
