Surname[edit]

_ _ So far:

  • [1] calls her "Li" where the context makes it clear a surname is intended (but its use of some Chinese characters is not clear evidence about whether the English text was checked by someone likely to know which name is which).
  • Li is at least 8 times as common as Na (if Na is a surname at all); the Dab Na rd-lks Na (surname) specifying "Korean"
  • User:Sue Anne piped Cats as if to say "Li" is surname
  • User:New World Man changed them from "Li" to "Li, Na" and then "Na, Li"
  • Sue Anne has since added Cats, and imitated the "Na, Li" piping in them.

Since neither editor has given any source or reasoning, i consider preponderance of the evidence to be for Li as her surname, pending stronger evidence.
_ _ I was about to restore the "Li, Na" on that basis, but at the last minute i hit on the proper criterion:

  1. Diving at the 2000 Summer Olympics inter-language lks to zh:シドニーオリンピックにおける飛込競技,
  2. which gives at both her medal events "李娜". And
  3. wiktionary:李 and wiktionary:娜 give "Pinyin: lǐ (li3)" and "Pinyin: nuó (nuo2); nà (na4)" respectively.

So "Li, Na" it is -- unless and until, i guess, the scholars report a dangerously high error rate on the Chinese WP.
