Statement about "Salumbides-Oracion clan"[edit]

I'm having problems with the following statement as it appears in the article:

A proud scion of the Salumbides-Oración clan.

It appears like it was written by a relative of Leo Oracion and is a statement that is not worthy of an encyclopedia article. What do you think? --- Tito Pao 20:57, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'd recommend its removal. --Howard the Duck 09:34, 14 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Deleted the statement. My justification is this: first, his full name was spelled at the very beginning of the article, and the statement in question (A proud scion of the Salumbides-Oración clan.) would be unnecessary if the only purpose was to state this fact alone, under the guise of being an encyclopedic statement.
Second, it is obviously a statement of opinion/sentiment, a subjective one that detracts from what would have otherwise been an objectively-written statement of facts, a statement that otherwise belongs to a vanity page or a user page. Although I cannot offer much proof, I have a feeling that the statement in question was written by someone who is a relative of Leo Oracion.
I'm making this manifestation for the record, in case someone attempts to revert the delete. --- Tito Pao 18:15, 14 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Leo Oracion listed in The Himalayan Data Base[edit]

Tito Pao, Himalayan Database published by American Alpine Club [http://www.himalayandatabase.com/2006%20Season%20Lists/2006%20Spring%20A10.html] had included Leo in the list of Everest summitteers for 2006 --Upm 11:49, 19 February 2007 (UTC) 19feb2006[reply]

disputedly the first Filipino[edit]

Tito Pao, Since The Himalayan Database has been published online by the American Alpine Club that internationally officially recognizes Leo Oracion as having summitted Mount Everest on May 17, 2006 [2] and his indisputable supporting document, a summit certificate issued by the Nepalese government had been presented here, is it appropriate at this time to completely delete the words "disputedly the first Filipino" on this article page. --Upm 16:07, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tito Pao, May I suggest completely deleting this "disputedly the first Filipino" since it has been internationally established that Leo Oracion is indisputably the 2nd Filipino to summit Mount Everest. --Artvaldez 17:05, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"first" Filipino[edit]

Tito Pao, I took the liberty to delete the "first" Filipino as an incorrect fact on Mr. Oracion's article since historical records on Mount Everest summiteers (The Himalayan Database) as basis indicates that Mr. Oracion's summit date is May 17, while Mr. Abenojar is May 15.--Artvaldez 19:15, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

2,740th Everest summiteer[edit]

Leo Oracion is the 2,740th Everest summiteer. In contrast, Dale Abenojar is the 2,614th Everest summiteer. Both Abenojar and Oracion is in the full list of the 3,050 successful ascents of Mount Everest from 1953 to 2006. Under "Everest all" is a link to the entire list in Microsoft Excel Worksheet [3]--Artvaldez (talk) 00:41, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
