Transgender - when?[edit]

It says that she is transgender, but doesn’t states when this transition occurred. Rustygecko (talk) 01:12, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Rustygecko: Why is that important to include? CaptainAngus (talk) 01:38, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Helps reader to make sense of the subject’s life. Something so important should ideally have a date, like birth, death, marriage. Rustygecko (talk) 22:00, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I do not think this is necessary to include. As a politician, an outline of Finke's career and accomplishments in lawmaking are much more relevant. Kaodigua (talk) 16:18, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I didn’t say other achievements aren’t important. Are you suggesting something as important as changing gender isn’t important? If that the case delete all reference to it and make it gender neutral. Rustygecko (talk) 05:30, 3 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

STRIKE: "to a jewish family" (I'm not jewish.)

ADD TO AWARDS AND HONORS

The Minnesota Public Health Association awarded Finke with the 2023 Robert B. Lewis Award, given every year to an elected official "Who has distinguished themselves in aggressive pursuit to establish and maintain health as a human right and to secure optimal community and personal health."[1]

Minnesota Children's awarded Finke with the Children's Health Hero Award. [2] Aleewithleigh (talk) 19:00, 29 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Partly done: Have removed the Jewish part as it was unsourced. As to the awards, I'm not particularly familiar with awards or Minnesotan organizations so will leave that for someone else to look at. You may want to look at WP:COI and WP:BIOSELF if you intend to edit or suggest edits to this page in the future. Cannolis (talk) 21:53, 29 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Not done:Unfortunately we cannot include the two awards without coverage in a reliable secondary source. I am closing this request for now. Feel free to reopen it and/or ping me if you can provide additional citations. Xan747 (talk) 00:12, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Multiple incorrect usages of the word "she" as this is a man[edit]

Title says it all. She is reserved for women, this isn't a woman. 2600:8801:1303:9C00:7C95:32C1:D59E:719F (talk) 23:33, 14 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Name prior to change[edit]

As a public official especially I feel it's important that the person's full identity is disclosed for instance without knowing what that person's name was when they went to school or prior to them changing their name might have criminal record there might be things that the public needs to know and those things are tied to the name that that person no longer uses but caring legally until they changed it. I know that trans people don't like being referred to by their former name but that doesn't take precedence over the public's right to know and I would respectfully ask that that information would be included in this article. I would hold that opinion for anybody who has changed their name for whatever reason and if the trans world takes offense at that that's their problem not mine and I'm not deliberately trying to cause it also trying to make sure that we don't get the wall pulled over our eyes or that because we give special consideration to this group of people that by doing so it is not expense of everyone else . 2601:447:C200:5A80:4D1B:743E:DC05:8A2A (talk) 08:18, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Right away sir! But only because you're a public official. 208.253.77.243 (talk) 20:14, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
