Tchaikovsky's additional music[edit]

Jourdan DVD?[edit]

There's a French radio performance dating from 1950, led by Janine Micheau on Myto, minus any spoken dialogue or narration, but the numbers end sharply enough to suggest that whatever went between them on the night was substantial and has been later cut. It appears to take the Brandus and Benoit vocal scores as a starting point, and differs remarkably from the Italian language version, which has additional recitative and linking passages. Who reordered and expanded the texts of the French scores for the Italian version? Auber himself? Though this is POV, I suppose, it's of its time, but good enough not to be ignored, not least for the style.Delahays (talk) 12:36, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
