Is he Finnish or Finland Swedish? // Jens Persson (193.10.116.24 07:10, 10 September 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Years problem[edit]

"Ahlfors worked as an associate professor at the University of Helsinki from 1933 to 1936. In 1935 Ahlfors visited Harvard University. He returned to Finland in 1938".

So he was at Harvard by 1935, returned to finland in 1938, and yet was professor at helsinki by 1936? Uziel302 (talk) 09:33, 15 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I can't guarantee that the information is correct, but what is your objection? One can be promoted at one's home university even while visiting another. Ishboyfay (talk) 05:52, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Needs to be expanded[edit]

I've just been comparing this article with the article on Lipman Bers, and think it ought to be of comparable length & depth. Note, for instance, that the word "Teichmüller" doesn't even appear. It would take an expert to carry out the expansion. Ishboyfay (talk) 07:50, 25 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nor, for that matter, is there any mention of Bers, whereas the Bers article cites Ahlfors. Ishboyfay (talk) 07:51, 25 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
