The Shubert Archive has a long article that includes seven pages about the show, including photos and quotes from the reviews. See pp. 7–14. This disagrees in many respects with Rublin's article. I looked at a couple of theatre books and did a Google search, and it appears that Rublin greatly overstates the case regarding the reviews and what Jolson did. Apparently, many changes were made in the show, but Jolson did not simply dismiss the rest of the performers or performance. It appears, also, that the initial reviews were simply mixed, but I agree that Jolson was nevertheless disappointed by them. I suggest reading the Shubert article and incorporating more of it, and removing some of the assertions from the Rublin source. As for the Harvard referencing system, I generally don't like it, because I think it is more difficult to use and discourages people from editing here, but if you plan to add a lot more to this article and bring it up to GA or FA class, feel free to convert my refs to Harvard format for consistency. -- Ssilvers (talk) 22:03, 4 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
