Hello, i differ with your opinion.Truth, the article in its present state is little more than a definition, but the article's subject lends itself for a greater coverage than just a definition, like the history of the Kwoon development through the ages, how do they function today, etc. We couldnt include anything of that information in Wiktionary thats why it should stay here.--Andres rojas22 (talk) 02:35, 15 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Added new citations and references[edit]

I've added two references which includes a reference to the 1978 dictionary already described in the definition. Can anyone decide if the verification template can be removed? I'm new at this and want to be sure the references are good.Tassit (talk) 14:41, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Western / Asian usage of the term Kwoon[edit]

If this article is to be added to with historical and current usage, does anyone have any references or resources on how the term is used in North America, the UK, Australia with perhaps a comparison to how it is used in China and Hong Kong?

While the definitions help lay a groundwork, if this is a martial arts stub then it's clear we are talking about a kung fu school or studio as used in the North American sense. Are modern day gung fu schools in mainland China called kwoon or guǎn? How about in Hong Kong? At my "Shaolin-based" kung fu school in Canada, the school is called a kwoon even though most of the other terminology you might hear in Chinese is in Mandarin, though it is primarily an English school.Tassit (talk) 14:47, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
