Not SOE claim[edit]

May be i can dig out source support/rebut the alleged not a SOE claim. The company was heavily backed by the government, and despite not a shareholder, it should have many Chinese source to report its association with government, or at least worth mention its connection. Group structure[edit]

Regarding the removed contents, as you did in Special:diff/810779306, @Dweller:, my be my bad wording, it seem the group had masked the true owner of the company as well as alleging Kuangchi Science and Kuangchi Technologies as subsidiaries, which it not and backed by state-owned financial service companies. Either the lead had to reflect it was a loose group of companies and organization as well as it was not even majority owned by the 5 founders, the entire removal just did not reflect the "private" claim of the group. Ah. I see. If you're digging up sources to try to prove something, you can't do that. It's WP:OR. If the company claims it's not state-owned we need to find WP:RS that argues with that, not do the homework ourselves. --Dweller (talk) Become old fashioned! 11:32, 17 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
No, i have the Chinese news article but instead i use the primary source to cite directly. Matthew_hk tc 11:35, 17 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Can you summarise (briefly) the Chinese source here? --Dweller (talk) Become old fashioned! 11:54, 17 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Need some time to get which articles i used/read. As i used all WP:primary source to cite the figure and did not add the Chinese media source (the interpretation of the figures) to the content. Matthew_hk tc 12:04, 17 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It should be related to above discussion "Not SOE claim", but regarding government subsidy alone, in an interview of Liu Ruopeng by Southern Metropolis Daily [1], Liu defensed himself that Kuang-Chi did received subsidy, but also the competitor ZTE and Huawei. http://bschool.hexun.com/2015-07-08/177377866.html this article regarding the financial backer behind Kuang-Chi, its leveraged takeover on other companies, etc, but written in 2015. Matthew_hk tc 12:24, 17 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

"Highlights" section[edit]

This section, which I've removed wholesale, was problematic on several counts. Inherently POV/OR (who says they're highlights?) it is a mix of repetition of material found elsewhere already, a statement of material that should be elsewhere and a statement of material that doesn't belong on Wikipedia.

So I'm plonking the whole thing below and if anyone wants to take bits of it and put it in the relevant sections, be my guest.

If anyone would also like to address the WP:OVERLINKing problem, that'd be just dandy too.

Here's the extract:

Some of them were item that "Kuang-Chi" invested, but just like the investment in China Unicom, firstly, small amount that not even pass 1% (compared to other significant shareholder); secondly it via a private equity fund named after "Kuang-Chi", but "Kuang-Chi" did not even own it in majority (the cite was about a research on true investors of China Unicom by Mr. ). A list of subsidiaries and notable portfolio (just like some other list section of private equity firm) may be survived as content, but the current state just like a collection of trivia item for eye-catching. Agreed. It's just not encyclopaedic. --Dweller (talk) Become old fashioned! 11:47, 17 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
