Another marketing plot on Wikipedia[edit]

I see the marketing agency did a really good job on this article. So much detailed information for an insignificant person. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.253.186.82 (talk) 16:10, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Death[edit]

On November 6, 2020, Bennett was shot in a downtown Atlanta nightclub, leaving him in critical condition. It was reported that two Atlanta police officers shot Bennett during a altercation with Quando Rondo.[1] Bennett was later pronounced dead due to his injuries later the same day.[2][3][4]

This is more info on how and why he got killed no changes really needed

king von was fighting quando rondo. then the shooter known as lil tim fired shots hitting von at least 2 times in his stomach. quando rondo then proceeds to try and help von and gets a punch from vons friends and then runs away. Quando is signed to NBA young boy who was beefing von. which may be the reason for the shooting. 85.218.223.109 (talk) 21:21, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Source on Barnes being a “serial killer”[edit]

It keeps getting added that Barnes was a serial killer which is obviously not true. No source verifies this misinformation, and Barnes was not charged for any murder during her life. 92.41.176.208 (talk) 21:42, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

He's killed multiple people including children between 2012 and 2014 and even later into 2019. all added up to 10 killed. Sounds like a serial killer to me buddy. 2A02:C7C:500E:8600:E927:FEF7:CB5C:2AF5 (talk) 14:26, 10 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

notoriety word choice[edit]

"Bennett gained notoriety from singles "Crazy Story" and "Took Her to the O", which reached the forty-fourth position of the Billboard Hot 100, and for the studio album Welcome to O'Block (2020), which placed fifth on the Billboard 200."

notoriety = famous for something bad. Getting a single is good. Recommend changing "notoriety" to "fame" or something similar. Evaluateblast (talk) 14:07, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Mention of killing in intro[edit]

Should direct mention of King Von being killed be stated in intro? I feel the answer is a clear yes, due to how it’s already generally alluded to that he died (not that he was shot and killed, but passively “died”) and specifically it is mentioned that he’s been implicated in other murders, which is one of the reasons his killing is notable. It seems readily apparent that one of the best reasons he is currently known (for better or worse) is that he was murdered when young, and that alone feels worthy of intro inclusion. If someone comes to his Wikipedia page and reads about him, one of the most notable reasons he is known should be included in the intro section to help the reader easily find key points, as is custom for Wikipedia articles.

In response to the revert caption of ”Already mentioned in death section”, I kindly point out intros are supposed to include notable events and due to that, notable events are mentioned in body sections regardless of intro. Appreciate any responses in advance. La rodman (talk) 20:36, 19 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with your previous edit in the lead, and what you mentioned above.
Per MOS:LEADBIO - "When a subject dies, the lead need not be radically reworked...; Unless the cause of death is itself a reason for notability, a single sentence describing the death is usually sufficient, and often none is included in the lead at all, just a death date."
Examples of similar inclusions of death info in the lead/introduction section for a rapper involving killings/murders, see the lead for Takeoff (rapper), PnB Rock, Young Dolph, Nipsey Hussle, XXXTentacion, Shawty Lo

Mention of Muralist without mentioning that it was not his project , can you remove his name period?[edit]

Would it be possible to just leave the Artist Chris Devins out of the article? Does it have to say "painted by Chris Devins"? I am Chris Devins and I did the art as a work for hire for the Mural Movement, Delilah Martinez. https://www.complex.com/music/a/cmplxdrea-o/king-von-mural-o-block-delilah-martinez-interview I would prefer I not be mentioned in the article if possible. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CgQF7yDgNen/?igshid=MTc4MmM1YmI2Ng== In both these sources, Delilah clearly states that it was a Mural Movement project. When I agreed to draw him, i did not he was, to be frank, a killer. I am not of the generation who listens to his music, I thought he was just another rapper. I do not want to be associated with the pain he has caused. If i cant express my regret in this article, can you please just leaver my name out of it? TheLetterist (talk) 13:44, 10 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No, the name will not be removed. Wikipedia isn't a means for you to promote yourself, it's an encyclopaedia. – 2.O.Boxing 09:08, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Removing my name is the opposite of promoting myself. TheLetterist (talk) 13:52, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You were fine with it being there when you viewed it as positive (promotion), but want it removed because you view it as negative. Sorry, but it's not going to happen. You need to stop editing the content in question per WP:COI. – 2.O.Boxing 21:59, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No, I was never fine with it being there. I didnt know it existed until a few days ago when a friend showed me the page. I disassociated myself from this project years ago. I'll let the police know your stance on this. There are police reports out here on the ramifications of this mural. Whatever point you're trying to prove , this is dangerous business, people have gotten killed over this. Im sure you know about FBG Cash . He got shot for standing in front of this mural. It's interesting how freely you play with f=danger. You are ignoring security requests from someone involved in the project out of some kind of righteousness. Serial Killer allegations[edit]

Looking over the sources a bit, I have removed this under WP:EXCEPTIONAL. The XXL source points to HipHopLately as their source for the report. HHL is essentially a gossip site. HotNewHipHop has a link to their source for their report at the bottom, which is XXLMag. HipHopWired lists HipHopLately as the source of the report. Since the sources all point to HipHopLately, there doesn't seem to be any independent reporting as needed for an exceptional claim such as suggesting someone was a serial killer. It is also worth noting that the sources seem more interested in posting about the video being removed with a focus on Trap Lore Ross, and less on the allegations regarding Von.
