Hello My name is Josh Wagner and Kenny is my great uncle, I never knew Kenny by my grandfather was Kenny's brother. These facts on this page are no where near true. Kenny never murdered anybody except in self-defense.He worked with two sheriff's in Mississippi bootlegging alcohol in the 1920's which were a time of corruption in the south. Kenny was only defending himself, get your facts strait!

Josh is correct. Kennie (that's how he spelled his name) was my Mamaw's favorite older cousin, which makes him my 3rd cousin I think. Kennie wrote many letters to my Mamaw over the years and they kept in close contact even though Mamaw was the only family member he had much do to with...I have heard my Mamaw talk about the things that Kennie got into and it was no where near the story on the wikipedia page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.70.100.145 (talk) 13:56, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, my name is K.B. Wilkerson and I have heard small tale of Kenny Wagner (my great great papaw or uncle or something of the sort) since I was young. My grandmother didn't want to talk about it, my father didn't want to talk about it, they said it was old and not who the family is now and I didn't need to know about it. All I had heard, probably from my brothers, was that Kenny was an outlaw in Old Kingsport and something about a killing. I would like to see a photo of this man, I do have a photo of Katherine Wagner, my great great grandmother, and I look strikingly like her! She was very pretty.. not that I am, but she was, you know what I mean... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.223.30.87 (talk) 18:09, 25 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

My name is Chris Keys. My father grew up in Ashe County, North Carolina and practiced medicine there for many years. He treated descendents of Daniel Boone as well as relatives of Kennie Wagner. He was told that the authorities ambushed Kennie on the Holston River, when meeting his sister as told in the main article. Kennie was known to us as a folk hero. My father's name is Carson Meade Keys, M. D. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:647:CB02:751F:DCEF:F361:F125:FB19 (talk) 16:45, 18 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Kennie Wagner'legacy.[edit]

Since I was a young boy,,I have heard about the legend of Kennie Wagner. I just wanted to relay the story as told from the folks in the Lucedale, MS area. Kennie made a bold escape from jail there, after he had been accused of murdering a lawman and for the making illegal moonshine. Kennie, however escaped from the Lucedale jail located within the George county courthouse. It is told that he jumped from a second story window, onto an awaiting white stallion and skeedattled out of the county without ever being captured. Many of the old timers in the county symphathized with Kennie and he was probably provided with the escape steed, and route of escape. As a side note,, the local ladies talked for years of his handsome looks and ways. He was sort of a legend in that area for many a year.

Yes, Kennie was a murderer! I also heard from my grandmother who was there when Wagner murdered her husband, my grandfather, Will Carper, and his brother, Sam. Self defense? NO, self defense is not valid against an unarmed man! Of course, his family is trying to believe his side, just as Charles Manson's relatives do! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.245.152.208 (talk) 22:49, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
