Notable Relative[edit]

Kelly is second cousins with Connor Killoren, Mr. Indiana Football for the 2007 high school football season.

PR Stunt?[edit]

ok, so maybe i am not into the fashion scene by ANY stretch of the imagination...but i have NEVER heard of this person...not even as a model...

could this item have been put together by Ms. Bensimon herself, or perhaps a PR person?? just seems toooo....i dunno...convenient.--76.174.104.226 (talk) 03:07, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

She has quite a following due to her appearance on the Real Housewives of New York. Her marriage is Gilles Bensimon, one of the most famous fashion photographers (Tyra Bank's favorite photographer), and her career as a fashion model probably have built up some fans as well. She is pretty public, so an extensive page would make sense due to her reality show. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.16.64.4 (talk) 04:19, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Removed charges[edit]

Any reason why the reference to her assault charges, arrest and court arraignment suddenly just was dropped off? The well publicized NY case from March 5, 2009[1] - which has not yet been concluded with court proceedings - was included in this wiki entry with article references but suddenly Friends of Kelly just dropped it off. --Kellsboro Jack (talk) 23:08, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, we are having a continued problem with anon editors removing the material. One of them has even claimed to be Kelly Killoren Bensimon herself. The lady said that "she and her friends will continue to patrol the article and censor it"(paraphrased, the actual quote is in the history). Something does need to be done about this, as there are numerous IPs that are doing this. I think the article needs to be partially protected(so that anon IPs cannot edit).WackoJackO 23:18, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I went ahead and requested semi page protection for the article.WackoJackO 23:26, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with the semi-protection, but I don't agree with having the arrest info in there -- undue weight and recentism. If she's convicted, or if she's arrested again for a similar occurrence, that might be notable.--SarekOfVulcan (talk) 03:42, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's a fully referenced section, it should definitely be in there. She is a person covered in the media, and so is the arrest. I am going to go ahead and move the arrest section to the bottom of the article however.WackoJackO 04:57, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
For the record, please note that "fully referenced section" does not imply "should definitely be in there".--SarekOfVulcan (talk) 18:08, 9 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proper name for article[edit]

This article was moved from Kelly Killoren Bensimon and that page was made into a redirect although she seems to be referred to as Kelly Killoren Bensimon by the press and even in this article. Could someone please give any reason for one name over the other and whether or not it should be moved back? Thanks. Drawn Some (talk) 00:32, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It was moved by User:Style777 (who claims to be her publicist - and has been doing a rather large number of controversial edits to the page). I assume as she divorced Gilles Bensimon in 2007, that she is trying to revert back to her maiden name.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 01:09, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmm. According to current news articles, she is still referred to as Kelly Killoren Bensimon and has just filed for divorce. Further comments would be appreciated. see here Drawn Some (talk) 01:12, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nah - I found the divorce case and it was finalized several years ago. She continues to use the whole Kelly Killoren Bensimon name (and her divorce papers which are available on-line refer to her post-divorce under all three names including Bensimon) but perhaps her publicist wanted to to start emphazising her maiden name as the "right" one, especially since ALL of the court documents against her, both civil and criminal, are under "Bensimon." I was the one who did the original redirects under all of her names to resolve to "Kelly Killoren Bensimon" and since that's the name she uses (for whatever reason,) then that's the name she should have here - arrest record and all.

On another topic, I think her "publicist" should be permanently banned from editing this page, and we'll deal with the inevitable sockpuppets later. I also think that her "publicist" is completely clueless as to how to read his/her OWN talk page which is where all of our warnings are. PR (talk) 14:20, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I went ahead and moved it back, didn't used to be able to move to a redirect, I was under the impression that an administrator had done it in the first place. Thanks. Drawn Some (talk) 19:28, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
User:Style777 is now trying it on with direct heavy e-mails to editors, waving the "we will get the lawyers" banner - I copied and replied on his talk page User_talk:Style777#e-mail and reply  Ronhjones  (Talk) 20:53, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
We have naming guidelines for articles at WP:NAME and Wikipedia:Naming conventions (common names). Even if xxxxx is NOT someone's legal name, it may be the title of the article anyway if that is the common name. She could change her name to Hardee's Roast Beef DeLuxe and if the press still referred to her as Kelly Killoren Benmison then that would be the title of the article here. Drawn Some (talk) 03:28, 12 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, I read that page, and if those people are her editors and technicians (although they clearly stated earlier that they were her publicists as well,) then Ms. Bensimon needs better representation. I think a hearty block could be in order. By the way - all of her legal documents (including her arrest) are under the name "Kelly Killoren Bensimon" so either that's her legal name or she is using a false name with the police - a felony in New York State. I am going to change my name to Hardee's Roast Beef With Cheese, though, so she can't take that one. PR (talk) 13:59, 12 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
