Lead- nationality or ethnicity

Hello all! The actress is the only one to say her father is Kashmiri. It has not been proven she is half Indian. In any case, as we see in most articles where ethnicity is not same as nationality (American actors/actresses as a good example, we do not write Italian-American or British-American, unless they have dual nationality or passport). The details of origins, ethnicity or race are described in the section "Early Life".

This page is having recently some controversy on the same issue. Miss Kaif holds an employment visa for working in India, her passport has never been made public though there have been controversies by other actresses (Deepika Padukone) asking for details of her passport in a casual way. Here's the link-( [1] ). In fact, it is also rumored that she is not even half Indian (i.e. her father is not Indian). Her being half Indian is an argument having been sourced by the actress herself. Miss Kaif, however, clearly does not hold an Indian passport (as seen with citations in the current lead). Please change/remove the above 2 excerpts from the article. These are derogatory If she herself has clarified her background a few times, there's no good reason not to trust her! BTW, that passport remark was made by a certain lady on a fake scripted reality show is obviously not to be trusted.

Seriously?! Nowhere in the article does it state the above. Not to mention the fact that it just plays up to the rumors. Don't know how this is reliable! Please Remove this.

Screen Awards and Zee Cine Awards

@Meryam90:, Zee Cine Awards and Screen Awards are most certainly not "trivial" awards. They may not be as high-profile as Filmfare or NFA but their ceremonies are still reported by the same sources that also post about Filmfare. The same actors who attend Filmdatei Awards are also present at these awards. It’s the Bollywood equivalent of Screen Actors Guild Awards so to speak while NFA and Filmfare are comparable to Oscars and Golden Globes. FrB.TG (talk) 07:07, 22 January 2022 (UTC)

There is absolutely no way that those awards are comparable to the Globes. Furthermore, those awards are simply not mention-worthy in the HEADER, as is the case for every other wiki bio of any other actor. Just because she hasn't been awarded any major award doesn't mean we need to inject these to try to prove her acting merit. As I said, it comes off as a desperate attempt to validate her acting ability which is discussed in detail in the same article as being unfavorably received...we just come off as contradicting ourselves and frankly as promoting special/favorable treatment in a fan-like manner. objectivity, anyone???

I didn't mean that they are on the same level as GG, but rather that Filmfare is to NFA as GG is to the Oscars in Hollywood. And as such Screen and Zee Cine Awards are on the level of awards like Screen Actors Guild Awards. It is not trying to "prove" that she is a good actress. It is presenting a well-sourced objective fact that she has won some awards (regardless of how her acting is received). This is not the first time that an actress who is known to not have strong acting abilities has received awards for her work. Please gain a consensus here before removing this information without proper justification. Zee Cine/Screen/IIFA Awards are very much notable organisations and receive substantial media coverage. They are attended by the same members of the media and the film industry that attend the Filmfare Awards. Sure, these are not on the same level as Filmfare and NFA, but that does not make them non-notable. These are hard, quantifiable facts, not my or your opinion, and it is not POV. If and when, she ever receives a Filmfare or NFA, we can remove these but until then we are going to write the next best things. It is not up to us to leave out certain facts to "prove" that she is not a good actress. What we can, however, do is mention the awards and her career trajectory (how were the reviews of her films/acting? How did they do critically and commercially?).
