I havn't read the book, only seen the movie (like 10+ times)
so im quite puzzled how it's writen on this page that she "drowns".
Katla died as Johnathan pushed a large rock onto her so she fell into the boiling underground pool of tar pit/mud vulcano or whatever substance it is.
so i wouldn't say she drowned, she died from that boiling substance.
allsow, i think it's important to mention that Johnatan is blinded after Katla torches him. Only later, after the dragon is dead and they've set up a camp for the night at a river, then does he mention that he's feeling paralyzed, in his leggs.
