Restored Speedy Deletion Nomination[edit]

Have this morning restored the Speedy Deletion nomination on this article, which was removed yesterday (no doubt in good faith) by editor Richie333.

I disagree with Richie's reason for declining the Speedy Deletion request, which seems to be that the article "has lots of sources". Respectfully, sources are not the issue. The deletion request was made under the A7 criteria, i.e. that the article, which relates to a living person, contains no indication of importance.

This biographical article essentially states that the subject was born, educated at university, worked at a bank for some time, then started an interior design business and opened a couple of boutiques. Whilst no doubt very successful, this is not the sort individual that warrants an entry in an encyclopedia. As the A7 criteria states, there is no credible claim of importance here.

The article contains the phrase "award winning" but the source for verifying the type of award returns a 404 error. Google turns up no details of any award either.

The article also states the subject has published a book, but Amazon.co.uk has no record of it and a google search of the ISBN number returns only a single hit, that of the publishers website where the book is listed as out of print/stock.

Again, whilst an obviously successful individual, this is not sufficient to meet Wikipedia's own stated criteria of notability or importance, and therefore does not warrant an entry into the encyclopedia. Hence, I've restored the Speedy Deletion Tag.

Will be very happy to discuss further if others feel I am wrong. 79.67.154.172 (talk) 06:06, 2 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
